Pure instant messaging — simple, fast, secure, and synced across all your devices. One of the top 5 most downloaded apps in the world with over 1 billion active users.

FAST: Telegram is the fastest messaging app on the market, connecting people via a unique, distributed network of data centers around the globe.

SYNCED: You can access your messages from all your phones, tablets and computers at once. Telegram apps are standalone, so you don’t need to keep your phone connected. Start typing on one device and finish the message from another. Never lose your data again.

UNLIMITED: You can send media and files, without any limits on their type and size. Your entire chat history will require no disk space on your device, and will be securely stored in the Telegram cloud for as long as you need it.

SECURE: We made it our mission to provide the best security combined with ease of use. Everything on Telegram, including chats, groups, media, etc. is encrypted using a combination of 256-bit symmetric AES encryption, 2048-bit RSA encryption, and Diffie–Hellman secure key exchange.

100% FREE & OPEN: Telegram has a fully documented and free API for developers, open source apps and verifiable builds to prove the app you download is built from the exact same source code that is published.

POWERFUL: You can create group chats with up to 200,000 members, share large videos, documents of any type (.DOCX, .MP3, .ZIP, etc.) up to 2 GB each, and even set up bots for specific tasks. Telegram is the perfect tool for hosting online communities and coordinating teamwork.

RELIABLE: Built to deliver your messages using as little data as possible, Telegram is the most reliable messaging system ever made. It works even on the weakest mobile connections.

FUN: Telegram has powerful photo and video editing tools, animated stickers and emoji, fully customizable themes to change the appearance of your app, and an open sticker/GIF platform to cater to all your expressive needs.

SIMPLE: While providing an unprecedented array of features, we take great care to keep the interface clean. Telegram is so simple you already know how to use it.

PRIVATE: We take your privacy seriously and will never give any third parties access to your data. You can delete any message you ever sent or received for both sides, at any time and without a trace. Telegram will never use your data to show you ads.

For those interested in maximum privacy, Telegram offers Secret Chats. Secret Chat messages can be programmed to self-destruct automatically from both participating devices. This way you can send all types of disappearing content — messages, photos, videos, and even files. Secret Chats use End-to-End Encryption to ensure that a message can only be read by its intended recipient.

We keep expanding the boundaries of what you can do with a messaging app. Don’t wait years for older messengers to catch up with Telegram — join the revolution today.

  1. ★☆☆☆☆ Partial accessibility equals no accessibility for the total Blind eric oyen · 3 May 2026
I have tried contacting the developers from inside this app, and only have gotten radio silence! I have tried contacting via Twitter, Facebook, and every other platform the developers might be on. Again, radio silence. This app is only partially accessible, which means for those of us fully depending upon a screen reader, it’s practically unusable and anything other than a very basic form. I expect to be able to use every feature, not just a couple features. Please correct this soonest. Oh, and there’s 385 million other like me that would like you to correct this, now. Update, as of May 3, 20
more26, this app is no longer usable by a totally blind individual using a screen reader at all. Most buttons are unlabeled, there is no back button for when you enter a chat. There’s also no profile button, and there are no longer any tabs at the bottom, which means I can’t even modify settings. I would rate this app lower than one, but that option is not available! The developers have failed in any minimal obligation to the entire population of the planet to make their client accessible for everyone! The developers of this app taught on their website, the equitability of the client, the inclusion of the client, and the diversity of its users. At least two of those three terms they are not living up to. As of today’s date, this client is no longer accessible at all.
  2. ★★☆☆☆ What happened, Telegram? Khasi عبد الله · 7 Apr 2026
Seriously. Who asked for “Cocoon A.I.”? And if anyone sane did indeed ask, because they cannot write their own messages without handholding, did they ask for the button to be above “Send”? Why? And did they ask for this feature to override the native, secure “Translate” feature in iOS? Did they ask for Cocoon to translate the names of my contacts? Why? What for? At least give us an opt–out toggle. And I mean tomorrow. Not only is this app unfashionably late to the party (Apple Intelligence, itself a late entrant to this bonfire of the “vanities,” was released several months ago), they seem to
more be blind to the fact that most people have grown to absolutely despise A.I. invading every single aspect of our daily lives, trivializing our humanity and our lived experiences. Now Telegram has also contrived an additional security layer, to be iterated and implemented by its security team (insofar as Telegram does have one), which has never been proven to know what they’re doing. Fantastic. I would have long ago switched to Signal, if not for Telegram’s incumbency among my peers and groups. Telegram’s reputation for gratuitous security issues, and as a shelter (cocoon? I’ll show myself out) for the most heinous Internet crimes and botnets, is now mainstream enough among non–tech people that I thought they were working more to improve. But this advent of A.I. underscored the notion that they may not be paying attention at all. I no longer say to new acquaintances that I have Telegram, unless they say that they do. And I have been an advocate since 2016; I’d say to everyone that, no matter its issues, Telegram remained undefeated and unparalleled in its user experience among messaging platforms. The crown has slipped. What happened?
  3. ★★★★★ Delete my comment if you want, cause you’ve been, gross Your last player · 3 Mar 2026
This app is being use to target/harrassing me, people are exposing and spreading child pornaghraphy of me from mistakes I made as a child, I found this out bc someone was impersonating in order to sell it better, don’t support this app do what you can to help get it taken down, only 5 star so it gets seen. Read while you can might get removed, but will do my best to keep the word out- with everything these sick people are getting away with I honestly doubt it will ever change, our gov lets Snapchat telegram discord all these app do this, I honestly would rather tik tok have been stealing my dat
morea than apps like this be allowed and used to target are youth, speaking from bad experiences, predator use these apps to target and lure the ones they can, and they have before, and in the end none of these apps make true changes to account for that, god forbid they ever take responsibility for what they created too. I don’t blame the kid that didn’t get help or know any better I blame the pedo and the app that allowed it to take place.
  4. ★☆☆☆☆ Inaccessible user interface makes this app not worth using, and is not ADA compliant. Murgle Skiffer · 31 Jan 2026
This app is always had accessibility bugs in the past. The share sheet is notorious for being completely unusable for voiceover users, unless you want to turn off voiceover and play that random touch game that could cause you to accidentally share with the wrong friend, or worse. however, for the most part, I’ve been able to use the app until recently. now, with the latest update, they broke the ability for voiceover to even see the message box, so good luck trying to send a message if you’re completely blind! And it gets worse, because it turns out, nothing along the bottom of the screen is a
moreccessible by voiceover. I cannot go into the settings for the app, or activate any of the other tabs at the bottom of the screen. Pathetic telegram. This is 2025, and there are laws in place stating that this kind of neglect to test the accessibility of apps before they’re released or updated is unacceptable. i’m going to see if I can roll back the updates somehow; if that doesn’t work, forget it; going back to regular old text messaging until these issues are resolved. this is incredibly disappointing, as my family uses this for our chat, and since I live on the other side of the US, this is my primary means of communicating with them.
  5. ★★★☆☆ New UI after update grungerock91 · 19 Oct 2025
I think previous UI before this last update seemed kind of better and more simple and efficient and integrated with the environment of the app, now to be honest it can seem kind of distracting at times or interfere with the content of app and what you want to read, like floating on screen and also as for the colors in previous ui, the navigation and tab bar or that mute/unmute button below the page seemed integrated and consistent with the rest of screen as for the color as well as their position, and also in previous UI, shape of tab bar and Navigation and tab bar below the screen seemed more
more fine and fit and detailed now it can seem kind of less fine and unfit, like kind of thicker, plus I think the color of these elements seemed better in previous ui than now which has got grey. Like many people said I think it should be either turned back to previous ui or a feature to return to previous UI as an option would be added, because I think in previous UI reading and using could be faster, more efficient without distraction.
  6. ★☆☆☆☆ Further ruining it, now with A.I. Adoso Waseli · 13 Jul 2025
Several problems have been introduced to Telegram over time, but this is way too far. The leadership has lost my respect and i can no longer in good conscience recommend Telegram to anyone anymore. After many bad moves, now even A.I. is being added to the platform soon, the functions of which will include most importantly the extremely unreliable, misleading, and false "fact-checking" nonsense where broken A.I. will teach incorrect information that gullible people think is accurate because they think A.I.s are all-knowing gods instead of the super imperfect programs they really are, often trai
morened on propaganda and otherwise just making tons of mistakes. How dare anyone simply have a normal conversation without the flawed robot god dictating speech, yeah? Another feature will be making (flawed) "summaries" of messages to help fuel the already diminishing attention spans of people by providing inaccurate alternatives in order to further reduce actual understanding, fuel more misconception, and break down relationships by replacing them with what a computer insists someone means instead. The head of Telegram proudly announced that this was a big money-making move for him. Because already being insanely rich doesn't quite make society's well-being matter to him more than inflating his bank accounts even further. Pathetic. The current direction of society is horrendous. Please find and support and share any GOOD platforms you can possibly find, which value truth, free speech, real connection, focus, intelligence, people's *mental health*, and actual privacy. Ditch Telegram. Also, translation was removed weeks ago.
  7. ★★☆☆☆ From innovation to disappointment! Rouldenn · 15 Mar 2025
I’ve been using Telegram since its release and have always admired its innovative approach and useful updates. It used to be a platform that prioritized user experience, constantly rolling out features that genuinely made communication more efficient and enjoyable. However, over time, Telegram seems to have lost its way. The focus has shifted drastically, turning into what feels like a crypto heaven rather than a messaging app. Instead of addressing bugs or enhancing the core functionality, updates now feel like unnecessary data bloat with little to no value for long-term users. For example, f
moreree users are still stuck with very limited reaction options—a glaring issue that hasn’t been addressed for years. Meanwhile, newer updates often introduce more problems than they solve. The latest update, in particular, has been a nightmare; it causes my iPhone 13 Pro Max to overheat to the point where it feels like it’s hot as lava. Telegram’s declining focus on free users is another disappointment. Features are increasingly locked behind paywalls, making the app feel more useless for those who don’t subscribe. What was once a forward-thinking platform now seems more concerned with monetization than user satisfaction.
  8. ★☆☆☆☆ Worst app since 2023 LackVoltia · 11 Aug 2023
This application has proven to be disappointing, reaching its lowest point since 2023. It is apparent that the introduction of the premium subscription has shifted the focus towards pushing users into purchasing it, leading to an unfortunate degradation of the basic functionalities. Notably, the severe limitation placed on sending messages, even when used responsibly, is particularly concerning. As an illustration, I found myself unable to communicate effectively within work-related groups, where I was seeking job opportunities. The necessity to compose messages daily, amidst the flood of comm
moreunication, to ensure visibility for potential employers is both impractical and counterproductive. Despite multiple attempts to address this issue through support inquiries, the lack of response is disheartening. Instead, I received a notification suggesting that the solution lies in acquiring a premium subscription – specifically, to regain the ability to send messages. This approach appears illogical and far from user-friendly. While I am inclined to assign a zero-star rating to reflect my discontent accurately, unfortunately, this option isn't available. I remain hopeful that a more competent alternative emerges in the near future, drawing users away from this application. The current state of Telegram leaves much to be desired and is becoming increasingly untenable for practical use.
  9. ★☆☆☆☆ An app that revolves around add revenue Edib J · 10 Jun 2023
This app use to be able to give you the option to see explicit content on a normal basis. Now however? I’m not able to see, receive or even visit the sites where these pictures come from. There’s no need for me to have to go to the desktop version of the app only to change a few settings that can be changed with a single button. The amount of neglect towards the enjoyment of the actual messaging system is worse than Kik. But at least Kik has updates that involve improving the experience of the users. Telegram will diminish the experience of all users, specifically consenting adults who wish to
more talk to each other. It’s very sad to see apps like this run by corporates who have no interest in the enjoyment of the app and will make bots to overflow the main stream of REAL people who leave reviews. They don’t wish for your experience to get better, if so then there would be a button on the app to enable or disable sexual content from being showed. Stop treating everyone on your platform like children and having blockers on all things that “aren’t good for ad revenue” which again. When two adults are having a conversation and one posts something explicit? I’m not able to see it because of a child or parentel block that’s on the app despite having legal age to see such things. If the company cares about the experience of the users they would’ve had a button that you can turn on and off to be able to allow sexual content on your account. But you need to go on the casual desktop website to be able to change that which is just tedious.
  10. ★★★☆☆ Not private enough RandB Lover · 13 Jul 2020
I like most of the features of this app (text, call, group chats, forwarding messages and sending, etc) I also like how you can build group chats with people that are in your contacts as well as include people from other people who may not necessarily be a contact but connected to someone else in the chat. I gave this app a 3 instead of a 5 because of its privacy settings. I didn’t like the fact that as soon as i joined the whole “telegram world” so to speak gets an alert that I joined. Your settings default to that so there’s no way to control that going on. I know this because immediately a
morefter I joined, I get a message from someone (in my contacts) that I had not spoken to in ages! I completely forgot this person was in my contacts. I received this message before I could even figure out the features of the app work, before I could figure out how it works, and even before I configure the settings the way I wanted them. That was very uncomfortable. Also, I don’t like that the privacy settings are not completely private. For instance I changed my privacy settings for “Last seen online” to “Nobody”. Meaning nobody should see when I was online. However, that’s not the case. If you select “Nobody” as opposed to Everybody or My contacts, the default setting next to your name for last seen online defaults to “Recently”. Well to me that isn’t private. No that isn’t given the actual time stamp, but that is still letting All of your contacts know that you were “recently” on telegram. So that to me is a downfall of this app. That isn’t private.
