Terms of use

Last updated 11 October 2026

StoreTally is a free census of the Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Apple and Google Play stores. Using the site, its API or its MCP server means agreeing to these terms. The privacy policy says what is kept about you.

Acceptable use

  • Read, search and link to anything here, for any purpose, commercial or not.
  • Do not try to get around the rate limits - with many addresses, many accounts or many keys - or copy the census wholesale by crawling the site or the API. Ask instead: there is usually a better way.
  • Do not use the site or the API to attack, overload or break into anything, StoreTally included.
  • Store listings, names, descriptions and reviews are the stores' and their authors' text. StoreTally shows them as published; reusing them is between you and their owners.

Attribution

If you publish figures from StoreTally - in an article, a chart, a product - say they come from StoreTally and link to storetally.com or the page you used.

Rate limits and keys

Without a key the API answers 30 calls a minute and 500 a day per network address; with a free key, 120 a minute and 20,000 a day. Days are UTC. A key is yours to keep secret, and you can revoke it at any time from your API keys. StoreTally may lower a key's limit, revoke a key or disable an account that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk - usually after an email to the account's address, at once when the service is at risk.

No warranty

StoreTally is provided as it is, free, with no warranty of any kind. The figures are collected from the stores automatically and can be late, incomplete or wrong; check anything you rely on against the store itself. The site or the API may change or stop at any time. StoreTally is not liable for any loss from using it or from relying on what it shows.
