Works well for me. I had to activate the following option in the extension settings, so to keep my existing login on the loaded page. "force links to open in the top frame (experimental)"
  2. ★★★★★ Krzysiu · 7 Feb 2026 · v1.0.0
I suffer from "new tab page randomly stopped working and all you can is to reset totally your fx". This temporarily saved my back and lessened my backhurt, because I made own new tab page, resembling almost 1:1 previous one, but now I can edit it as I want. Too bad Fx suffers from so many bugs and that we can't simply set new tab url via settings. Thanks a lot!

Exactly what I needed! The address bar change messed with search so this extension is just perfect, thank you!

It simply works, and works great. I don't know why people leave so bad reviews.
  5. ★★★★★ Sillylittleguy · 6 Jul 2025 · v1.0.0
Just works. Thanks a lot !

For whatever reason it won't work with Google.com. Uninstalled faster than I installed this useless garbage...
  7. ★★★★★ leopold · 11 May 2025 · v1.0.0
It fully achieves the goal of changing the new tab page and properly clearing the address bar. It is the best extension for faithfully fulfilling this purpose.
  8. ★★★★★ NightOwl · 9 May 2025 · v1.0.0
This extension allowed me to switch from Chrome to Firefox since I've been using a Start.me page for a very long time and I needed the address bar to be empty when a new tab is opened. Custom New Tab Page does the job flawlessly. An iframe is no problem for me since all links are opened in new tabs. Or you can just middle click them, you know.
  9. ★★★★★ Ra Shoe · 18 Mar 2025 · v1.0.0
Does exactly what I want it to do, I use this to make a "spacer" tab with my vertical tabs (since I have so many...), and I can set the title of the new tab to be a nice, visual "—————" instead of "about:newtab", which makes browsing through my long list of tabs much easier! Plus, the author's website at zen.mint.as looks super professional and works extremely well as a new tab page!

    Very nice

Change in installs, scaled to each window from the real gap between crawls. A window needs a full period of history before it reports anything.
