★★☆☆☆ Firefox user 14971508 · 24 Oct 2026 · v1.3.6ich kann leider nicht viele sterne geben, der beste server ist schweiz, nur ist das glück sache, das dieser beim wechseln kommt. alle anderen sind sehr langsam usa, singapur, japan usw. dazu will google dann natürlich auch die sprache anpassen. darum ist schweiz der beste, nur funktioniert das leider sehr selten. schade. einzige was wirklich gut ist, das beim start des browser dieses addon schon aktiv ist, das ist bombeDeveloper reply · 27 Oct 2026The default Connect option will connect you to the fastest available server for you. This leads to better load balancing and higher speed, which is a priority for free users. For the option to connect to a specific server in a country of your choice, you may consider upgrading your plan (https://protonvpn.com/pricing). On another note, connection speeds can be influenced by many factors such as your native ISP speed, location, server load, network setup, etc. The free servers may also be slower at times since a lot of users are connecting to them. Try the tips at https://protonvpn.com/support/increase-vpn-speeds to improve your speeds.

★☆☆☆☆ Oi · 23 Oct 2026 · v1.3.6The Proton VPN add-on for Firefox is boardline usable. Every time my laptop returns from standby the add-on is completely unresponsive, it keeps showing a spinning wheel forever. I have to disable and re-enable it. It's such a shame! I'm a Proton Unlimited customer, and for a company that advertises themselves as the open source secure and private alternative to big techs, it's shocking to see how they don't prioritize resolving this issue for one of the most popular browsers among their target audience. I do not recommend Proton VPN for anyone on Linux + Firefox.Developer reply · 27 Oct 2026Sorry about that. We're aware of the issue, and our team is working on a fix. Make sure to keep your browser and the Proton VPN extension up-to-date for the latest improvements. Meanwhile, we’ve documented your report accordingly.

★★★☆☆ Bb · 12 Oct 2026 · v1.3.6I love proton, but this extension is not very good.. And same with the linux application for vpn.. Luckily i see they are getting more and more CLI tools for linux! (which will make it a lot better and easier)Developer reply · 13 Oct 2026Thank you for the feedback. Would you mind letting us know what issues you've experienced with our service exactly? ★★★★★ Firefox user 18837287 · 10 Oct 2026 · v1.3.6Works perfectly and the connection is very fast (I have a 1 Gbps fiber connection and I don't notice any slowdown when the VPN is on). Used with a Proton Unlimited subscription.

★★★★★ Wizardly · 5 Oct 2026 · v1.3.6The VPN has varied in quality over the years. On some browsers it performs better than others; however, despite some minor bugs Proton's VPN is better than the others, which often siphon and sell personal data despite saying they won't.
