Search reviews Edge add-ons

Find the listings whose reviewers mention a bug, a missing feature or a competitor - the words people use when an app lets them down, or wins them over.

Every word must appear, in any of its English forms (crash finds "crashes" and "crashing"); "quoted words" match as a phrase, OR between two words matches either, and sync* matches every word starting with "sync".

Try: crash "dark mode" subscription OR paywall battery login OR sign* ads

What is searched

  • Reviews are read weekly for each store's 5,000 largest listings: the newest 50 on Edge and Firefox (Edge up to 100 in a busy week), the 20 or so each Google Play listing page shows first (its most relevant), and the 10 or so the App Store features on Apple. Each read adds to what is stored, up to the newest 200 per listing; older reviews of listings that dropped out stay searchable. The counts are of those stored reviews.
  • Google Play: the reviews each listing page shows first (its most relevant), from the US store, in any language. Apple: the reviews the App Store features, not the newest. Edge: the US market's reviews that came with text. Firefox: every language.
  • Chrome reviews aren't collected.
  • A listing appears once at least 3 of its stored reviews match.
  • Words match their English forms, ignoring case and accents: crash finds crashes, crashed and crashing; add * for any word starting with it (sync* finds syncs and synchronize). In Chinese, Japanese or Korean text a word matches only as a whole run of characters.
  • Quotes are the reviewers' own words.
