  1. ★☆☆☆☆ Playing with our money Treyka · 13 May 2026
UPDATE TO DEV RESPONSE: I don’t care for your excuses. Account closed. ORIGINAL POST: All was well until I tried to pay a medical bill directly from my personal account last summer. For some reason this was seen as doing business with my personal account. In what world do people not pay personal bills such as medical bills with their personal funds? My entire account was frozen for nearly a week. During this time they hyper-scrutinized my funds, wanting me to explain the origins of every dollar in the account. I probably lost years off my life over the stressful fact that I didn’t have acces
mores to any of my own hard-earned money at the whim of this financial institution. Worse, it happened again last month: To avoid the same problem, I had opened a business account. I was transferring 75USD from personal to business so I could pay a bill. I made a note in the memo section: “soul,” the name of the business I was going to pay. That payment and my account were frozen. “What is ‘soul’?” they wanted to know! For a note in the MEMO, which is for personal use! I answered their intrusive and ridiculous questions, and as soon as the matter was resolved, I closed my accounts. They treat their customers’ money like monopoly money, causing needless frustration and worry when it costs them nothing but costs their customers everything. If you don’t mind having your accounts frozen for nothing, by all means do business with Wise!

  2. ★★★★★ Wise Debit Card Made My Canada Trip Effortless – Highly Recommend! Martyshaw · 14 Mar 2026
I just got back from an amazing trip to Canada, and the Wise debit card was hands-down the best travel money decision I made. I didn’t carry a single bit of cash the entire time – zero! Every single place I went, from big-city coffee shops and restaurants to small-town stores, gas stations, and even street vendors, accepted the card without any issues. It processed smoothly every time, just like a regular Visa – no funny business, no declines, no awkward explanations. What made it truly shine was how seamless everything felt. No hunting for ATMs, no worrying about exchange rates or hidden fees
more eating into my budget. I loaded up my Wise account beforehand, and spending in CAD was as easy as using it back home. The app kept me updated with instant notifications, so I always knew exactly what was happening. It truly lived up to the promise of hassle-free international spending. If you’re planning any travel (especially to places like Canada where card acceptance is widespread), do yourself a favor and get the Wise debit card. It turned what could have been a minor hassle into complete peace of mind. 5 stars aren’t enough – this thing is a game-changer for travelers!
  3. ★☆☆☆☆ They hold your money hostage ThatAccThough · 5 Jan 2026
I have a friend that lives in the UK he sent me money through Wise and no this is the first time I’ve ever used this app and he said use Wise because there’s little trade fees. Well I make an account do everything that’s needed. He sends me the money no problem but then I try transferring it to my personal bank account in the US and they will not let me transfer the money because you need an ID. I try to put in my ID and don’t get me wrong. My ID is a little worn because I work outside in the sun but you could see everything on my ID and there’s nothing that’s destroyed on my ID. It’s just sli
moreghtly worn wow the AI that they use does not accept my ID no matter what I did inside of 20 different lighting and I clean my ID the best of my abilities and I even took a picture with my face in the ID or next to it you can say and it did not accept it. I called customer service. I’m on the phone with them for who knows how long multiple times and no matter what they would not get a supervisor and they could not help me. I told them that the closest day for me to get a new ID is three weeks from now they would not help me this app is ridiculous. I’ve never had a company. Tell me they’re gonna hold onto my money hostage before until I get new documentation, they couldn’t even send the money back to my to my friend, which is the most ridiculous part. I will not be using this app once I get my ID back. This is absolutely ridiculous.

  4. ★☆☆☆☆ Money transfer Mr jabs · 3 Nov 2025
I’ve been told by a friend that this app does the transfers less than 30 minutes . I downloaded it in verify my all information on it . After having the app on my phone for couple months I decided to send money to a friend who is in hospital and need immediate medication. I deposited $1720 . The money was charged from my bank but it’s not available on this app . I called , emailed, they’re asking for another stupid verification again .they ask for statement with my bank name and logo on it , my name on it , the full amount and the transaction ID has to be on that statement. The statement which
more they ask I received it from bank only once a month . And I had 10 days until bank sends me that statement. I decided to cancel the transaction they said it’s going to take another 4-10 business days . It’s been a week already… and another 4-10 days !!! Man I have someone in hospital who needs medication asap !!!! How do I wait all that long ! I called 3 times trying to discuss about the situation but each single time they decided to hang up the phone on me and refuse to answer. Their only answer was to wait 10 more days and there’s nothing that they can do . So imagine been a week and plus 4-10 more business days that I can’t use my own money worth of $1700 just because my money is in this trash can and they locked my money for no reason!

Hello there. We hear your urgency and we appreciate your feedback. As a financial institution, we need to know who’s using our services, why, and that their money comes from a legitimate place. It helps us combat money laundering, and keep everyone’s money safe. We also have different regulatory requirements in different regions. We might need to ask different questions, depending on where you are moving money, or where you live. We know this is personal information, so we try to ask you the least we can to still complete all our checks. We always store your information securely, in line with our privacy policy. With that being said, if you've canceled your transfer, please note that we're not able to expedite refunds, so we ask you that you wait the needed amount of time of the refund to be sent and received by your bank. We appreciate your patience in the meantime. - Wise
  5. ★☆☆☆☆ Service is a brick wall db556677 · 6 Aug 2025
I had been using my Wise card for the same transaction when suddenly the transaction started failing. In the Wise log it says the transaction is being blocked by Wise. The vendor says Wise is rejecting the transaction. Cool, I chat message support to find out why. After a bit of a wait, i get a response and explain the situation. The person asks that i give them time to check. OK. 10 mins later i get a form letter response to check a bunch of stuff I’ve already explained that I’ve checked. I explain this, and reinforce NOTHING has changed since the last time I did the exact same transaction la
morest night. The person then says the transaction can’t be processed, and says I should talk to the vendor. I again explain that both the vendor and Wise are saying that it’s Wise that is blocking the transaction. I again say, my purpose is to find out why? Then the person says that i just need to accept that the transaction can’t be processed, and to use another payment method. I again state that I understand, but i am asking why? I say if the answer is that the person doesn’t know, I understand, but tell me that and let me know if there is another person i can ask. The person just resends their previous message. I give up realizing I’ve just wasted 30-40 minutes of my life. Bottom line, Wise will randomly block purchases with the Wise card, and support apparently has no ability to tell you why.

Hey there. Thank you for your feedback. We believe our customers deserve the best, so we’re sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet those expectations. Sometimes, your card will be declined for reasons outside our control. Like if the transaction is out of our risk appetite or we blocked it for security reasons. If this is the case then you'll have to choose another payment method. Feel free to reach out to us at: https://wi.se/help, or send us a message on Facebook or Instagram if you have any additional questions. We'll be happy to help. - Wise
  6. ★★★★☆ Pretty easy but could still improve SeminoleDoug9782 · 9 Jun 2025
Your IT is pretty great. It turned out to be super easy to send my international wire. Enter the information and make a few clicks. And the money arrived in my account in Taiwan. Overall pretty happy and will hopefully use more in the future. Recommendations: Firstly, there is an optional field when you initiate a wire that you’ve entitled “reference.” Add an explanation for what can go in this field and how many characters can be included. Secondly, your customer service people are terrible, in my opinion. They’re not rude. I just don’t think they know what they’re talking about. They need m
moreuch better training. It’s a little scary to try to send an international wire for thousands of dollars on an app for the first time. It would have made me feel much better if they had seemed more informed. Finally, the fees are a bit expensive. But I know your competitors aren’t much cheaper. But if a cheaper option becomes as easy to use as your app, I won’t be using your app. So consider whether you can lower the fees or not. Western Union is $15 but I’m having a little difficulty with them right now and I don’t have time to go find their office in my city and figure out what their problem is.
  7. ★★★☆☆ Unpredictable and unreliable Ricky1066 · 28 Apr 2025
I have used Wise for the past 18 months, and its utility has dropped in the past six months or so. Previously, a transfer from the United States to Thailand would be accomplished within hours, and sometimes within minutes. But now, even the most minor transfer takes days. That is so despite the fact that at each step of the transfer process, the Wise app tells me my money should arrive “in seconds.“ But when all the inputs have been made and you actually hit submit, suddenly you are advised that your money will not arrive for two or three days. It’s like a bait and switch. Moreover, for many o
moref us living in other countries, it is important that the money be received as a “foreign funds transfer“ for immigration or visa purposes. But using wise you never know whether the money will be received as a foreign funds transfer or a domestic intra-bank transfer. For both of these reasons, I have tended to use a normal wire transfer from my American bank to send money to Thailand because I just cannot rely on Wise anymore. UPDATE: I have used Wise several times in the past few months after a long hiatus. Some of the issues I described above appear to have been resolved. While my money never arrives “in seconds“ as promised during the transfer process, it does reliably arrive in my Thai bank account the next day marked as a foreign funds transfer. So Wise has improved his game somewhat and now I am more comfortable using it.

Hey, We understand how important speed, reliability, and clarity are when managing international transfers, especially when it impacts essential things like Visa requirements. Rest assured, we aim to be as transparent as possible during the transfer process. Estimated arrival times are based on real-time information available at the moment of setup. However, sometimes delays can occur after the transfer is submitted, due to factors outside our control — such as additional checks, banking hours, or third-party processing delays. We're always working to improve these estimates and minimize any unexpected changes. About transfer type: The method of how funds are received (foreign funds transfer vs local transfer) can vary depending on local banking networks and Wise's partnerships in each country. We’re glad to hear that your recent experiences have been smoother, with reliable next-day transfers and correct processing. We remain committed to constantly improving our services based on feedback like yours. If you ever need clarification about how a transfer will be processed or specific receipt requirements, feel free to contact us via https://wi.se/help (click "Trouble logging in? and follow the steps) or on social media: X, Facebook, or Instagram Wise

This was the best app to send and receive currency but starting from last year it’s the WORST. I had no problems for maybe two years straight of sending money to MYSELF as I live abroad and ever since start of maybe last year while trying to send money to MYSELF, there’s been an issue every single time they lie about the deposit time they tell you that it will be deposited within SECONDS and it might take a day. It might take 2 days or3 days and all they do is tell you that you have to wait. Also when you try to cancel the transaction after they INACCURATELY stated the deposit time they’ll hol
mored your money for an entire week before they deposit it back into your account. It’s not a scam, but it is definitely. They are holding peoples money, drawn interest off the money and then after a few days of giving it back to you is clearly clearly corrupt app. I will not use this app unless it’s an extreme emergency and this used to be my favorite app you guys are crooks and you should go to jail for the amount of time😕🙁😕🙁😕🙁 you’re holding peoples money and drawing interest off of it it shouldn’t take seven days to transfer peoples money when you said that it will transfer in minutes or seconds😞😞😞😞👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
  9. ★★★★★ Convenient and Transparent International Banking with the Wise Bank App Kobbyasare45 · 4 May 2023
One of the key benefits of using the Wise bank app is its transparent fee structure. Unlike traditional banks and money transfer services that may charge hidden fees and exchange rate markups, Wise displays the exact exchange rate and fees upfront. This helps users save money and avoid surprises when sending or receiving money. The app is also easy to use, with a simple and intuitive interface that allows users to quickly navigate and perform transactions. Users can easily create a multi-currency account, transfer money, track their transactions, and manage their balances in real-time. Another
more advantage of the Wise bank app is its security features. The app uses strong encryption and two-factor authentication to ensure that users' personal and financial information is protected. Additionally, Wise is regulated by financial authorities in various countries, providing users with additional peace of mind. Overall, the Wise bank app is a reliable and convenient solution for international money transfers and banking. Its transparent fees, easy-to-use interface, and robust security features make it a popular choice among users. However, as with any financial app or service, it's important to carefully review and understand the terms and conditions before using it.
  10. ★★★★☆ Efficiency of TransferWise Lanni88 · 15 Oct 2019
I’ve availed TransferWise service for several years now and had great results. Although recently I had an unusually untimely transfer (4 days). In addition I was a bit confused by the overly long estimated time conveyed by TransferWise on a subsequent transfer (6 days) but after submitting the transfer and to my surprise I received the funds in less than two hours, which is about the speed in which I normally receive the funds. I want to clarify my previously poor feedback toward TransferWise. The service I have received is for the most part Great! My only complaint is the recent estimate for
morethe completed transfer. I understand your companies position that it would be better to over estimate the transfer timeframe and deliver the funds earlier than proposed, and I’m trying to wrap my head around that logic because that works great for most people I’m sure. But... in my situation an estimate of 6 days for a Debit/ACH transfer leaves me wanting to initiate my transfer 5 days early, but If the transfer completes in only a few hours it then creates another issue with my billing cycle at my bank and fees. Overall I rate your service as highly recommended. I will just have to cross my fingers and hope the funds arrive as they have in the past. Thank you, Lon
