★☆☆☆☆ Literally just stupid I Am Lillie · 26 Jan 2026So my flight gets cancelled right? I’m stranded in a city where I know no one and (this is on me) I have low funds & literally no physical credit or debit cards on me because I’ve been using Apple Pay only for years just fine. Since my flight was a late one, it is now past midnight. Instead of Sunday night listings, it’s showing Monday night listing. Which I get it, clock struck 12 it’s a new day. So here I am frantically trying to reach out to hosts to see if anyone would let me book a stay for Sunday night even though the app only lets me book for Monday. Well apparently they put a cap to ho

w many hosts you can message at a time. Well I’m not about to request to book a stay for a reservation I honestly probably won’t get when they put a hold on your card for every request. I just don’t have the money. Not to mention one of the hosts I was able to message literally tried to get me to book for Monday night without reading my message first. Last thing I want is for someone to approve my reservation without reading anything and then I get charged for a room I can’t even stay in. I can’t afford to wait for a refund right now. So anyway—I call support and explain the situation and explain how I literally just want them to make it to where I can keep inquiring about stays but they said that they had no way to override that???? Like it’s so stupid. I just want to book a stay for the night so I’m not a woman sleeping on the floor alone at a huge airport. -
★★★★★ Cancellation process approved Tapatía 2023 · 27 Oct 2025It is my pleasure to inform you that your Airbnb customer service is superb. I spoke today with a gentleman I believe is overseas in some Asian country. I was harassing him trying to have him tell me where he was from but anyways, he spoke perfect English with the most polite voice very very patient because I was having a little breakdown because I had to leave in a hurry for my brother who’s having a baby he’s 12 child I am the oldest daughter but my mom passed away in 2014 so I’m also like a matriarch and I had to cancel my place because I want I need to be close to Escondido where my brothe

r’s wife is going to be delivering the baby so I’m glad to inform you that the cancellation smooth went smoothly. Airbnb platform creator I wanna give you a kiss and a hug. I hope there was a woman in part of that team. I love how the Airbnb got updated and all of my questions get answered immediately. The payment method is awesome in Klarna is a great thing to do because now if I wanna buy a present for my beautiful little niece, I’ll be able to afford it since I don’t have to pay upfront for my Airbnb stay thank you so much for all you do to improve your customer service. I don’t not have nothing to tell you but thank you. Hugs and kisses Namaste from a person who has DNA of 40 different countries cause I am a princess of God and his precious daughter. -
★★★☆☆ Better customer service Popsnopica_flip · 3 Aug 2025When a host cancels your reservation, the app is more than happy to keep your money in the app and give you a credit so that you may rebook with someone else. When you cancel, they process a several day refund even if you ask for a credit on your account. Hosts have the ability to cancel up until a few hours before your stay, and it’s just a mess. I had gotten no response from my host the weeks leading up to the booking until they spontaneously canceled my reservation 5 days before my vacation. The issue was something to do with an AC unit, but I had noticed the building was a bulked and no on

e had reserved the other side. I reserved the other side and reached out to the host to ensure there won’t be any issues, that were clear to come rent and I gave 24 hours until I canceled. Upon canceling the AI robot told me that refunds have to be given the way they were paid for, and that I could not receive a credit despite the fact that I don’t have extra funds for another Airbnb while I wait for reimbursement. When I called customer service, I explained how inconvenient a refund is due to the processing timeline, and how my wife is pregnant with twins and I’m trying to do this as stress free as possible for her, and how if they can put the money as a credit on my account if the host cancels then I would really like them to put a credit on my account for the same reason. It is not a refund if it is staying within their system so I don’t know why they’re trying to process it as such. Could definitely use some work on that end. -
★☆☆☆☆ AVOID THIS APP AT ALL COST!!!! Jazzy12343 · 3 Mar 2025I have been trying to communicate with airbnb for the last 2 days and no one responds my messages. i had previously booked and airbnb and didn’t find it to my convenience so i decided to cancel and book a different one. two days later i booked another airbnb and got accepted and my money taken, within two hours airbnb cancelled my stay without any notice or warning. I had to communicate with support and they had told me my card was giving problems and to use a gift card instead, i had waited until the next day to receive my money back to buy a $740 gift card, put it on my account and then try

★★★☆☆ Cleaning fees Leanne103 · 21 Jan 2022I love using Airbnb‘s, it’s a sense of having your own home even though you’re away from home. One thing I really have a problem with that I’ve noticed lately, which I’m sure it’s people taking advantage of this whole “Covid Thing“…the cleaning fees have been absolutely ridiculous on most of these rentals over the last year. Which I think again is absolutely ridiculous that Airbnb lets them charge this much for a cleaning fee when I know it does not cost this much to clean a space. Plus on top of the ridiculous cleaning fee, The owners expect you to clean the place before you leave it or they

charge you even more (do your dishes, sweep and take your garbage out). Really, what did I just pay $100 for? Especially when some of these spaces that I have arrived at or not clean. There’s still sand on the floor, hair in the shower, in the bedsheets, in the bathroom, soap scum and plastic covers for razors left in the shower… You get my drift. So I paid $100 cleaning fee on a dirty rental but I left it spotless when I left because oh and I cleaned it when I got in. I think that’s what irritates me the most, I’m clean and organized and my reviews speak for themselves. When the people I rent from review me as spotless and couldn’t tell that I was even there it was so clean when I left. I feel like cleaning fees should be based on/waived or given back depending on the condition you leave the place. So when I leave a space spotless , I feel it’s really frustrating to pay a $100+ cleaning fee. -
★★★☆☆ Love and hate Airbnb Vile82 · 12 Jan 2022Airbnb as an app is wonderfully laid out, and allows several filtered options when looking for a place a stay. I’ve stayed at well over 15 different airbnbs over the years and the hosts are sincerely nice people, with great local recommendations and their own wonderful travel stories. Much like everything else in life, you get what you pay for. I would say that is true for 90% of the properties listed with Airbnb. I’ve stayed at one or two not so great places, because of a few friends that didn’t want to pay an extra $20-$30/night. Spend the extra few bucks on a place, it will be worth it

in the end. Now why a three star review? Because Airbnb’s customer service ethics are so bad that it’s not even worth the time to type the epic amount of vulgarities I would like to throw at their customer service department. Much like the famous line from goodfellas, if you have an issue it’s very much “f___ you, pay me”. I cannot stress enough, if the host you’re looking to stay with is listed as a business (looking at you Evolve vacations). Stay away. Their cancellation policies are predatory, and they will find a way to make you pay for an entire trip if you need to cancel. Airbnb will also hold you in limbo for months until most credit card companies will deem the charge as happening “too long ago”, and you can no longer file a dispute with your credit card company. Don’t be a chump if this happens to you. Go right to your local magistrate and file a complaint and get a court date. See how fast Airbnb moves to help resolve the issue then, it’s almost comical. -
★★☆☆☆ Was good until… fixitplzzzzz · 25 Aug 2021I have used this app before and it was great. Good listings good communication between us and the host. But this time not too good. 3 months ago I booked a condo in ATL for my fiancés birthday. It was approved by the host and the $ was taken from my account. This was a $200+ charge for the room cleaning fee etc. Here we are a week before check in and I get a notification that the host canceled! The reason was “emergency maintenance “ but I don’t believe that. If you look at the listing you can book from now up to the day we were supposed to check in and several days after. If it was emergency

maintenance wouldn’t the condo be unavailable now until it’s fixed? It wouldn’t just not be available on that one day. Anyway yes they are giving me a refund but it is going to take several days for it to go back into my account. 1. I can not book a new room until I get the refund because funds have already been spent on tickets for our trip. 2. They gave me a “coupon” for my stay but it is only $24 and can only be used if the new room is more than the previous room booked 3. Since it is Labor Day weekend everything even close to what I was getting is booked up so no Skyline view for me. This is a bad way to handle this as my whole trip is pretty much ruined at this point. Hotels in atl are about $250+ per night and it’s not even close to what I was getting with the condo. I think a night comp should be standard for things like this because now I have $90 tickets for a show but no where to lay my head. -
★☆☆☆☆ Scammed J. Ritzert · 18 Jun 2021I will not use Airbnb again! We booked a summer vacation back in November, only to find out we got scammed less than two weeks before our vacation. We were checking out the house and finalizing our plans with our family and noticed something wasn’t right. We tried to contact our host only to find out he was long gone or didn’t exist! So now we are less than 2 weeks from our vacation and have no where to stay! Although they did give us our money back, they could not find us a place to stay that was very similar to what we had booked. We went through a totally different website and booked a plac

e that costs us more money than we had originally planned to spend, but there wasn’t much we could do! Everything was totally booked in the original area. We were supposed to be one block off the beach and now we are about 10 miles from the beach! Airbnb needs to do a little more research on the people posting homes on their site to make sure it’s a real place and that they person listing is the actual owner! They did offer 10% off our next booking, but I refused since everything that was left in the area was 400+/night over our budget and was not even for the same days as our vacation! It would’ve cut 2-3 days off our vacation! Although people are dicks and scam other people all the time, I feel Airbnb should’ve made it right and paid the difference of the place we found to stay that would have been as close to what we had originally booked! Very disappointed in the entire situation! -
★★★★★ Forever Grateful to AirBnB Andychuho · 5 Jan 2021I am a proud AirBnB Super Host with 2 listings in New York City. AirBnB was the best thing that ever happened to me, after trying to live with traditional roommates. AirBnB provided professional photographers to take pictures that confirm the state and description of my listings. AirBnB advertised, helped me to get guests, and managed the bookings. The payments have been prompt. On my part, I maintain and keep the place clean, pay all bills (rent, water, power, gas, internet, TV subscriptions), and treat all my guests with utmost courtesy. The guests become my family and my friends, and withou

t being too intrusive, I keep checking whether they are ok and comfortable. To the best of my knowledge I provide them any information they require to make their visit and stay in NYC successful. The earnings from AirBnB enable me to cope with the living expenses, and I am eternally grateful. It has been quite an honor and privilege to meet guests from all over the world and learn so much from them. I remember them with fond memories and thank them for choosing to stay at my place. Support from AirBnB corporate and community has been exquisite. I have greatly benefited from suggestions to improve and handle different situations that arise. I love smart pricing. I sincerely thank the developers of the service, the staff who run and continuously improve AirBnB, and the brave guests who make it possible when they take a leap of faith and opt to stay at a stranger’s home. Thank you. -
★★★★★ Don’t expect any help if anything goes wrong. User265337 · 7 Sep 2020They do not care about hosts. I have been a host on Airbnb for about a year now and it’s been increasingly stressful by the day. Anytime anything happens on the customer side, no matter how small (like dust on top of the kitchen cabinets, I’ve literally had someone complain about that and get a refund) they penalize you $50 and cancel your payout. On the other hand I just had a guest completely lose his mind, threaten me, and try to leave with my appliances. I ended up having to call the cops and he was arrested (he actually had 3 WARRANTS and a heroin needle on him) when I called customer ser

vice to cancel his reservation the line recognized my number, saw I was a host, and hung up on me no matter what choice I made on the automated system. I still haven’t been able to talk to a live person and I’ve called all the numbers. Now I can’t give this psycho his refund and he’s been harassing over the app saying he’s going to leave a bad review sue me and complain to get a full refund, which he’ll probably get. I’m looking into other apps like Vrbo or hometogo but before I do I had to leave this review, I’ve never seen terrible service like this in my entire life, it’s literally non existent. The pay can be good but you’re on your own if anything happens.
