★☆☆☆☆ Technical issues majoritymysterious · 13 Sep 2026I’ve been using indeed for a a few years now with a few minor annoyances, however with recent AI and UI changes, I’ve had problems. Most of the issues are systemic, such as not having employers post an estimated pay range, have inaccurate locations posted on job listings, and not holding employers accountable for ghosting applicants. All of that can be argued is not part of Indeed’s job. However, what can’t be argued is the fact that somewhere in the last six months, indeed’s software simply ate half of my resume. Random portions are gone that were there before, and the only reason I know is

because it notified me on the app this morning when I opened it. l’ve applied for countless jobs in the last few months, and the fact that I’ve sent a half completed resume (that was fully completed before) is mortifying. I don’t know how many potential higher paying positions this has cost me, and the more I think about it, the more irritated I get. Why would employers bother to get back to me if it looks like I can’t be bothered to send them a completed resume? I shouldn’t have to check to see if the most basic feature of a job search app is working every time I submit an application, but now it seems that I am going to have to. The point of the app is to make searching and applying for jobs easier and less stressful, and it has failed on every front. If I could give negative stars, I would. -
★★☆☆☆ Unsurprisingly Prejudice Heltorva · 30 Aug 2026If you want a single entity to judge you based on an AI’s opinion of you, it’s your type of app. These people profit from your unemployment and actually tell employers they’ve got “systems” built in to find them a “suitable candidate” based on unverified information on a resume. They won’t admit it, but they’ve got “rating systems” and categories for everyone. You know that last piece of information they say is for the gov? That’s also for them and it’s used to place you within the “suitability” ladder. Your race and gender matter more now than ever and it’s being used to label you. Also, thes

e ridiculous employers who use these apps actually get beyond a “feedback” button when it relates to “rating” you. You make Indeed the cash, you are the asset the employers need but you’re not given all the tools the employers get. More-so, your “feedback” if negative is hidden depending on the employer. These are nerds with a dataset they call a “profile” but with no actual real-world knowledge about the people using their app. Now, AI is going all out telling employers you’re not suited or are a fit for their companies when it has zero experience outside of its servers. My advice, go old school and present yourself. Avoid getting your privacy violated, data resold and judged by a program. It’s ridiculous just how dumb people are to trust in anything or believe something if it’s repeated enough on screens. -
★★★☆☆ Frustrating (because of the app) Destin dynamics · 27 Apr 2026The job market is really difficult right now. Places around me dont seem to be hiring anyone in my field despite the fact that ‘tons of new jobs’ would be open. Thats not why the app is bad. The app is bad because of two reasons. 1.Lack of ability to focus, and 2.Inability to teach employers how the app works. I do not want to have a hour commute. I want jobs related to me and not to dentistry or something. But no matter one, scattered amongst my searches, intermingled in, will be jobs that are a hefty distance away or jobs that require a PHD i have never obtained and will never obtain. Its es

pecially infuriating when you consider that I put in exact specifications for my location, the distance I am willing to drive, and my skills. It doesn’t make things better that employers dont know how to use the app. If you have a need for a specific skill, have that be placed into the skills section and NOT the description. Maybe I wouldve taken that desk job if it didnt require, you know, a degree in dentistry? Overall, the app is just infuriating and it makes me not want to open it whatsoever. I understand implementing searches that are farther away when you scroll through the others and cant find a good one nearby, but really? The second result? When the third is closer? It needs to be changed. -
★☆☆☆☆ Jobs don’t want to higher AmbieLC86 · 1 Oct 2025I think indeed is a good job search opportunity but the reality of this website is they used way too much AI to search through applicants. There’s so many jobs looking for employees but then when you apply you get no reply from jobs. I know, me and a lot more people who have applied for jobs on these website. Either get no response or we’re not hiring even though the job was posted. Or they want to interview you but then they never get back to you as well. They make you upload your résumé four times sometimes just to apply for one job. Businesses keep putting how much hourly you’re going to ge

t paid only to go into interviews and then I’m telling you it’s a different price which most of the time is lower. Than advertise on indeed that should not be allowed. Also as the hire, we are told not to contact the workplace and that they will contact us if they’re interested. That put us a disadvantage because we do not even know if they see that we are interested in working for them. I just don’t know how much of it is AI and actual companies looking at our profiles and our work experience. Cause math just ain’t math. I wish there was more communication on this app than it is. And I wish this app put more on the business side of things than on application because all we can do is apply and say we’re interested in working for companies, but companies are allowed not to get back to anybody or be up in front and honest with their post -
★☆☆☆☆ Horrible format with one good feature that backfires OmegalLizardLicker · 14 Jul 2025Once you start looking for a job, it restricts you to your field so much that i cannot find other jobs outside my field. And i need a job. I cant be picky, and it can’t help me. I need a map. Where i can draw a circle. And say show me EVERY SINGLE JOB in the area—organized like this. I can’t even find a job. And the one good thing, being able to apply with just a few buttons, has backfired on us—making it so employers have so many applications, they wont even take the time to look at most of us. Also it is has extremely annoying constant notifications that will bother you when you don’t want t

o look, and if you turn them off, they bother you with allowing them the whole time. I might as well not even bother trying to find a job on here, because i have better luck the old fashioned way. 6 months, and i still cant get 20 hours a week. I have 4 jobs. Thanks indeed. Glad you took over the market and screwed us all over. Also shut up about the notifications. I dont even want to open the app because all it will do is pester me about notifications. I have them off because it will bother us all day long about stuff i dont care about. And if it is off—it relentlessly asks about turning them back on. At this point, im boycotting this app. I dont care if i have to fill out the whole application. Im done with this. -
★☆☆☆☆ Something is strange Thatguysmiles · 3 Mar 2025Think something fishy is up. 15 jobs applied with one one company getting back to me. You check on a post 2-3 days later and the job post is expired so you start a new search and bam…. The same posted job is shown. Talked with the one company that got back to me about emails stating “you were not chosen for the job..” or similar. Company states this is an issue with the app. When they move a potential employee from one section to another the email(s) are automatically sent out stating that you were not selected ect. Kind of strange right? Starting to wonder if employers are getting the

information sent to them. Update…. 70 jobs applied. “2 companies”reached out after my 1 star review about indeed. Only after my one star review!Look at job postings, you will see more and more “this position is not a position yet…”. Why post jobs or allow companies to post if they are not real. You would think that indeed, a job listing/finding service would only allow jobs not well maybe in the future…. Wish I had money to fix indeed or apple for allowing apps like this. Stay away from. Way too many “possible” jobs listed by companies, companies put that in the listing that the post is not a job just a position they are the thinking of creating. So indeed is not a place to find a job rather it is an app to view jobs that could be a job. -
★★★★☆ Trouble with the app Jackiediamon · 16 Dec 2024I like this app and it’s really cool besides getting a bunch of emails but there’s something horrible wrong with this app that needs to be fixed. So when I get a notification it’ll leave a number on the app on how many notifications I got! So when I get on the app on the top right corner it has a bell. So I go to press it and look at my notifications which it shows me when I press the bell and to be honest it usually happens when I get a job match or a haven’t heard back yet. And it’s highlighted in blue on what I haven’t seen yet. So I press it and the job comes up then I disregard it if I do

n’t like it or I’ll fill out an application if I like it. But here’s the problem and what needs to be fixed. Once I’m done looking at the job I press the home button in the right corner or press the arrow on the left corner and it takes me back home. But I’ll still have a red dot on the bell so I’ll have to go back in look at the job and then go back home? But it still doesn’t get rid of the number on my apps nor does the red dot go away in the bell so I’ll have to keep going in and going home going in the bell looking at the notification then press the home button and it still doesn’t go away it takes forever to disappear and honestly it’s annoying please fix it. Once it’s read it should disappear but it doesn’t! I even have to do this process multiple times and still a red dot on my bell and a number on may app then after 10+ times or more it finally goes away please fix this issue and thanks -
★★★★☆ Hit or miss Raven Eak Radio · 16 Sep 2020Indeed has been good to me for so many years, even before an app was available when needing a job. However the last few years Indeed has lost some of that steam. Don’t get me wrong it’s still great but as I mentioned the last few years it’s been lacking that steam. For example, I’ve submitted my resume to multiple companies and I get the email that “the employer has moved on” message. One day I was curious so I went to the website directly and submitted my resume and I got a call back within a day. During the interview I mentioned to them that I submitted my resume through indeed and the email

I got after about a week was you found another candidate. They told me that indeed pulls the job description a lot of times but they tend to look at emails from their site first before indeed and when they hire someone they remove the posting, thus you get the email probably from indeed. Since I’m not HR I can only go by what they told me but that could vary depending on employer and how big or small the company is. Indeed is good for resume building and the ability to save it in pdf and print it out if need be so that’s a huge plus. I really enjoy indeed and I won’t leave it, but for more bigger companies I would recommend just taking the time to submit your application on the job site. I know some people don’t have easy access to computers to do that and indeed is a great alternative for those that don’t have a computer or fancy smart phone. I would recommend if you see a bigger company listing on indeed, instead of applying through indeed if you can, just go to the company website. It will go to their Corp HR oppose to possibly getting lost in a flood of emails to the local HR. -
★★★☆☆ Great app, just hard to actually find a job. FromWiscompton · 29 Mar 2020I’ve had the indeed app for probably over a year now and in my full, honest opinion I believe the app is great, helps you see all work around the area, but most of the job postings are low wage, high labor work. Even if you do have experience in a field you’re looking for work in the employers still only want the best quality candidates and this leaves no room for young people with not much or little work history. You’ll be constantly hoping to hear from a position you applied for whilst also applying for other jobs that you will never hear back from because a lot of the postings are not updat

ed to let you know the position was taken. It almost seems like Indeed wants you to create a new work history through them to attain a better/higher paying job, So previous work history almost seems like it doesn’t matter. Employers say (preferred) but not require and then solely will deny you a job because you’re under-qualified. And then I’ve gotten job offers for things I’ve had 0 experience in and the only reason they will accept you is to pay you little to nothing because you have no experience. It’s all a long shot unless you live in a highly populated area where you can get a job on any city street or corner. As I said, the app is well designed and is a tremendously great idea. But if you are too young, or not much work history, or just plainly aren’t a perfect candidate then you may as well go apply at your local Walmart or gas station. 5/10 -
★★★★☆ Why does Mc donalds post hiring ads but don’t hire in Bakersfield CA??!!?? ToHellWithLetgo · 8 Aug 2019I’ve had this app for about almost 2 years now and out of thoes 2 years I’ve filled out over 100 applications literally because out here in Bakersfield CA. If your not working your not living period! Out of all thoes applications I was only hired once by a ranky danky medical marijuana dispensary which the job only lasted 4 months. Now I’m updating my review because as of right now Mc donalds is so called hiring big time right now. I filled out an application for every branch in the city, I finally get a interview at the restaurant on 19th and union ave, this was July 18th,2019 and I was told

that the general manager (liliana) which was standing right at the counter and sent a team leader to give me the interview was going on a 3 week vacation and to follow up on my interview then. Today’s August 8th, 2019 (more than 3 weeks later) and when I try to call, at first I was told this Monday that liliana wasn’t there until 3:00..I called at 3pm sharp with no answer of the phone after numerous attempts, that was Monday, and Tuesday & Wednesday the restaurants phone stayed on busy tone the whole day. Today’s Thursday and when I get on indeed This morning a brand new post from the same restaurant for the same position that I applied for weeks ago are hiring for the same position. Why are they posting ads still when they haven’t even got back in touch with the interviewees that were interviewed with me. I’ve contacted Mc donalds corporate and more in regards to this.
