★★☆☆☆ New UI, Poor User Interface Rynfyre · 8 Oct 2026Have to agree with a vast majority of frustrated users, this new UI is not friendly to users. Visual clutter (ads for opening new credit cards I already get junk mail about, login popups prompting me to add biometrics for sign-in and no option to turn off the prompt, bottom button bars that used to be cleanly set within the main page) plus tiny font (with no settings to change) must make this app a nightmare for anyone who needs glasses; I have 20/20 vision and I find the size of the main text uncomfortable to read. Combined with head-scratching decisions that go against not only familiar old

placement of core features but also well-known website/app standards (Why is the settings button on the top LEFT instead of top right? Why can’t I move around the order of my accounts by holding and dragging but instead have to go into a confusingly-named submenu to do it?), navigation is difficult and confusing for old and new users alike. I’ve always been frustrated and confused why PNC incorporates monthly app changes requiring me to update every time I need to make a payment too, but that’s a historic company decision and no fault of this particular version. The thing I do praise about this update is the addition of customization options. The pinned accounts option is perfect for my use-case and something I am very grateful they added! More customization (especially font size) plus aligning the app with common web design/mobile interface standards would make this app much easier for users of all ages. -
★★★★★ misleading msgs from the app annoyed one the 25th · 6 Oct 2026this version of the app was never up to the first one, there are more annoying features in it - such as i cant log out unless i go to all the way back to the opening page to do it, and if im on the phone at the same time, i cant even close it, because the logout is covered... then, the latest: the app used to warned what was wrong, if i mis-typed something, like wrong amount, now it says: “this service is not available, try later!” and i have no idea what is going on! such a disappointment! i wish the developers would go back! and news again! the app said this service is unavailable momentaril

★☆☆☆☆ I miss BBVA dennis2706 · 12 Jun 2026PNC purchased BBVA and I have been unhappy ever since. The first experience as they rolled in was letters telling me what I needed to do(NO!) next they took away my LIFE TIME FREE CHECKS next they changed my account numbers I have had since I 13 years old and my checks started at #100. My interest rate dropped significantly in my savings account that was earning a decent amount per month to just pocket change per month with no notification and a guy from my local branch called me about a new product they have which would earn him a commission so I told him about the interest rate drop and it w

as clear he was only interested in his agenda and not about customer service nothings changed with my interest rate he just blew me off. Next they require me to update my app to 18.0 to continue using online banking and my older I Phone 7 that is still going strong will not get this update so should I get a new phone or a new bank? Now and I think this is going to be the final straw I've had enough, when I get notices from bill pay it doesn't tell me who it paid anymore just an amount so I have to log in to see but now I can't. That doesn't help me nothing this Bank has ever done has helped me. my bank has changed hands two times before this time and I didn't have to do anything and I did not lose anything. Thank you William Demchak (CEO)for your fine oversight. -
★★★★★ Trouble with Zelle PNC Zelle · 5 Jun 2025When I called PNC due to a Zelle issue, the customer service person asked for my security information which I was happy to provide. After passing all the questions, he continued by asking me for my last four account debits which I gave him. But then, he started lecturing me about why I should be careful with Zelle and asked if I trust the person I was sending money to via Zelle to which I answered yes, I’ve known this person for a long time. He suggested I shouldn’t use Zelle to pay for services. He also lectured me on my account login security and how I shouldn’t share my login information wi

th my wife to which I responded that was none of his concern. At this point, I asked him to stop lecturing me like I’m some stupid, first time Zelle user. He continued to lecture me explaining that sending money with Zelle is exactly like sending cash. I said I fully understand that. We have multiple personal and business accounts with PNC that have never been compromised because we’re intelligent and aware. I told him this and he continued to lecture me. This is by far the absolute worst, most demeaning customer service conversation I’ve ever had with any financial institution and I was not happy when I finally hung up on him. This was totally unacceptable behavior. I’m your customer. Be nice! -
★☆☆☆☆ Pin nightmares Gonzo bohemian · 8 May 2025PNC requires at least 3 different pins/passwords. If you have business and checking you’ll have at least 4-6 PIN numbers. If you try to pay someone new using Zelle it will give you one chance to enter a pin and then lock you out. If you call the number on the lockout screen it’ll route you to personal checking even if you’re logged into your business account. Even if you call the business banking number directly it’ll route you to personal checking so you’re going to validate with 4 digit texted codes etc at least twice before you’ll talk to anyone. They can unlock your acct and give you a tem

porary pin but you have two tax I’d numbers, your EIN and your ALK. No one knows wh I one to use. They just guess. Then voice banking will ask what pin you want to change, voice banking, atm, online banking. Bc they have at least 3 pins per account. To make it more fun it’ll lock your account again ig you answer anything wrong or get the wrong EIN/alk number. Even if you do all that right, whicj you won’t. (Hint it’s your alk number and your voice banking pin) it’ll lock you out bc your temporary pin expires after 15 minutes. I spent 45 minutes trying to pay a landscaper. Less pins. Get the social security/EIN thing straitened out, don’t require a zelle pin for people already logged into the app, and for gods sake change the phone number to the business checking department if people are logged into their business checking when locked out. Multiple verifications are so boring. Also change that god awful hold music, it’s triggering, slow, dentist office Muzak. -
★☆☆☆☆ Worst banking app I have MadiAlynah · 14 Oct 2024I don’t know why I just haven’t closed my account with PNC. I’ve been with them almost 2 years due to a job I had that offered a type of promo if I were to sign up for an account & get direct deposit. They have crazy overdraft fees, I recently didn’t move money around fast enough & was not even over a dollar, literally was some change, & still got the fee. Which that is more on the bank & not the app. So things I don’t like about the app, as I said, I have several accounts with different banks & credit unions. PNC every single night does “maintenance” on their app, for hours, & in that time y

ou cannot do anything with your account. Example, lock & unlock your card. Which has been a huge inconvenience for me several times. I’ve managed to get ahold of someone in the after hours via telephone & they couldn’t help me which seemed bizarre. Back to the app issues, they also don’t have any way to display your card details. Anytime I can’t use Apple Pay & need to use my card, that’s a huge inconvenience to most of the time to retrieve my card. I don’t understand why they don’t just display your card details on the app. No where else does that. Last thing, several times logging in, even after changing my password more than once, I’ve logged in & I was met with a notification that my information appeared in a data leak. how many times is that going to happen ? -
★★☆☆☆ Too glitchy Tequila.97 · 18 Feb 2023I like this app but there’s ALWAYS an issue. Every single week the app doesn’t work for one reason or another. Ive been trying to transfer money using Zelle for over TWO hours and I STILL cannot. Zelle is working fine but I can’t use their app because I have a PNC account linked. You are FORCED to use PNC’s glitchy app that almost never works. Im already concerned about using Zelle to transfer money and now I have to be worried about if its even going to work or if Im going to go through multiple times because of how terrible the PNC app is. I had to call PNC 2 different times tonight to get t

he account unlocked. Zelle locked me out for entering an incorrect pin number ONE time. It gave me one chance. The atm allows you more opportunities. Zelle punishing its users with extreme security measures because they allow fraudulent activity to occur on their platform and PNC is WRONG for continuing to partner with them. The representative unlocked Zelle and I ended up having to call back because there was a security lock on my transfers that I had NEVER been contacted about. PNC rep told me it had been there for months but no one from PNC ever reached out, I didn’t get a letter, or call. I don’t understand how its acceptable to have an issue with an account and these banks refuse to tell you until you need access to YOUR money. Its ridiculous and the app alone has made me want to close this account and switch banks. -
★★☆☆☆ This bank is horrible. Ramrod4307 · 1 Jan 2022Went into bank to make a mortage payment yesterday at Garland location on Glenbrook drive the man Rafael was at cashier window talk to customers in Spanish and seem to be just conversation not helping with bank issue I understand some. Then the bank manager was sitting in her office texting on her personal cell instead of seeing us customers needed help since all he wanted to do was chat after 20 mins it was my turn to me he was rude and I told him I just need to pay mortage payment after he acted mad I wanted to do this. Since I got attitude from Rafael he told me if I did not like his servi

ce I should change banks and was rude. I have had my account with guaranty bank from 20 plus years to BBVA and never issues from any other location but this one. Since PNC took over this place is horrible and I will let my normal branch I deal with that has been great what he told me I should do is leave and go to new bank. If he don’t want to do his job maybe he needs to be fired. If he only wants to talk to Spanish customers in Spanish maybe he needs to go to another county to Wk that speaks only Spanish. I have never had anyone rude like this idiot. I will be porting him and the lady texting on phone instead of helping people while he just wants to chat with Spanish speakers if he is racist he shouldn’t be at cashier window and acting this way to customers. And telling long time customers that if they don’t like it change banks. This is not acceptable. For a bank or anywhere to customers. -
★★★★☆ PNC Mobile Banking Kiwilaurel · 19 Jun 2020There are the normal inconveniences and difficulties with signing in and out with a banking App. In general the APP works well enough with one great inconvenience. If you share your accounts with a significant other the biggest problem is that each of you has to have your own account for use. Your account is linked to your social security number and your debit card. I would prefer to not have a debit card but you can’t use the mobile app without one. Worse than that: while both of your cards are linked to the same account the activity in each is invisible to the other user. Until activi

ty has cleared the bank you can’t see any pending payments. If you go to the individual information for a payee you can’t see any payments made by your partner. It will only show pending payments once they are being processed and within a day or two at most from clearing the bank. If you arrange to pay a bill a week or earlier than you actually want it processed, it doesn’t show as pending. Even worse! You have to enter all the information for each account into each user’s separate sign on. It can’t be transferred in any way. You just have to enter every single piece of information separately. You cannot easily share the job of paying bills because of this blind aspect. However, if you are sneaky and want to steal from your spouse or cheat, this would work very well. Another poorly thought out aspect of bill Pay is: if you agree to get e-billing on credit cards, it will tell you that you have bills that are due but doesn’t give you the total but only the minimum payment due. I have often had to leave the App and sign in to my card account to find out what I actually owe. If you are getting e-bills the whole statement should be retrievable from within the App. -
★★★★☆ Took a step back with last update. TweetTree · 21 Aug 2019I could give 5 stars for convenience and general reliability. But the last update, while making the app more snazzy, also made it less convenient. Cool new graphics and slick transitions were added. Looks cool guys. But takes longer to load each page. I don’t need to be entertained by my banking app - just need to make an online deposit or pay a bill. Here’s an example of inconvenient: making a mobile deposit. Lots of sliding around of graphics with every selection I make. I finally get the deposit made and then there’s the confirmation screen. The top 1/3 of the screen contains a blue bar wi

th a giant “+” sign in it. Below that is the deposit information. Where’s the confirm button? Took me a while to figure out I have to scroll down to see it. Maybe a little smaller graphic on top would allow me to see the whole thing on one screen. And maybe instead of all the flashy graphics after every selection (deposit, account, amount...) all that could be on one screen and then the flashy stuff could come after, and just once. Bill pay is much the same. Looks cool but is a waste of time. Functionally, convenience-wise, reliability-wise — I love having the app and it serves me well. I could just do without all the fru-fru.
