I like that everything is free. Yes and it’s not a scam I promise. It’s not like evite where you have to pay to upload your own invitation photos. It has its own templates if you’d like but I definitely think that if it’s free, using your own invitation is nice. You can even do “text blasts” and Partiful has automatic text blasts for reminders for the event and reminders to rsvp so you don’t have to worry about forgetting to do that. There’s really I nothing I don’t like about this app tbh. I think the reason that is free is because they make their money by allowing people to have public events that are open to everyone on the app (you can choose to make your event public or private, don’t worry) which is a really cool concept. Yeah so if you want to host your event and actually have people properly rsvp, but you don’t want to have to pay for the little things, and if you’re into it, you want to be able to rsvp to public events, Partiful is a MUST DOWNLOAD for you. It’s honestly the best decision I made for my events. And I’m a teen girl so if you need a little extra gusto to download it, it’s TEEN GIRL APPROVED. -

If you have a busy work and home life, it’s not great. Often when I receive an invitation I think it’s great, but I have to check calendars, see what my husband and I have that day, etc. And then respond. I usually probably know if I can make it but I rarely know with certainty the instant I receive an invitation - and that’s what this app wants from you. you can forward to your spouse or keep in your inbox as a reminder, and you only get a text message if you haven’t installed the app. Once installed, they expect you to be diligently scanning your iOS notifications waiting for an invitation, and then responding instantly. If you have to follow up, then you are obligated to copy the invitation into your own task or email so that you can remember to follow up. It’s a rude experience for guests and a terrible way to plan an event - unless your events are for other children or you are just seeing who is available right now to go to dinner or something impromptu. -

However I find messaging on the app (text blast) alittle clumsy and I tried a testing invite with my husband for this exact purpose and yes the texting wasn’t hitting the mark. We couldnt find ways to directly message one another. The only easy way was the comment section of the invite and still wasn’t notified when each others messaged on the comment board even. I found a workaround by adding a questionnaire and adding a question for each date and asking my guests if they could make that date, and then I will edit the invite with the final date and time once I see what works best for everyone. I would pay for this pre-event availability add on! Overall, a fantastic app!
