   I am visiting the Family Dollar app for the first time in years. I have been using the Dollar general app and now I see why I prefer DG instead of FD. In all of the years that I have not used the FD app, I was hoping that there was some improvement. The DG app is ultra convenient as it allows you to create a shopping LIST of the items that you intend to purchase at the store. When making your list, the DG app also applies all of the coupons that you have clipped and shows you exactly what you’ll be paying at the store. You’ll have no worries of being embarrassed at the checkout counter because you THOUGHT you’d be paying less for an item due to having a coupon, no thanks Family Dollar. I will stick with Dollar General. Please upgrade your app. Dollar Tree app is designed the same way as DG, and from my understanding Family Dollar and Dollar Tree are under the same umbrella. There is no reason for the Family Dollar app not to have more convenient features on their app. The only Pro of the Family Dollar is that it allows you to “unclip” coupons. Dollar General app does not allow you to unclip coupons if you find a better one.

   I only shop at family dollar for convenience of the location being near my home and I regularly used the scan tool to confirm mark off prices because my store has slackers, who don’t care about their job, barely do any work and will lie and even scam you if you aren’t able to prove they did it. The new scan tool doesn’t show the mark off prices like the last one did…. Definitely weird and gives that corporate is in cahoots with their ghetto employees who need training and restructuring.    in the dark party… when I got to the register, the cashier decided she was not going to sell them to me at 1 cents despite them ringing up as such and started scanning random items near her register. My calculated balance of $17 total which was a mix of about 22 glow sticks socks and underwear for my children was $50 plus and I was asking her why and she had an attitude…. And tried to make me the problem. So I required her to refund me, and of course she had trouble getting to the total since over half the items on my receipt were not even items I purchased. What she did was entirely illegal. The only way I have to prove it that day was the app scan tool which now is not accurate at all.

   I would have given Family Dollar 5 stars but the location nearest to me is AWFUL, actually that’s a compliment. It’s so ran down and has been for going on 20 years now. The store has had ZERO updates & no renovations & is SUPER tiny. I understand they don’t own the building but after 20+ years in that location, don’t you think it’s time for them to get a newer, BIGGER location? There’s options for them in this neighborhood if they were interested. The store has even had to close in the past from being over ran with rats.. yes I said RATS!    usiness and left food behind & it became infested with rats. With nothing but a wall between them, of course they made there to FD as well. So not their fault at all! Now with all that said, they stay stocked the best they can when literally the whole store is only a couple hundred sq ft. They have a lot of variety and ALWAYS have what I’m looking for, when the other stores in the area just don’t. It helps a lot that the staff is friendly as well, I know they’re doing the best they can & I appreciate them for that!

   I’m not really happy with the customer service that Vicki ( cashier) gives to many of family dollar/ dollar tree’s customers. It’s been many occasions where I have came into the store and She simply refuses to serve me . I understand that you have the right to refuse service to unruly people and or rude customers, but just not want to service a person for no apparent reason feels somewhat WRONG. The last time she did service me was over 4 months ago and she sneezed into her hands and of course I said bless you , but when she went to grab my merchandise I asked her kindly to use a bit of hand s

I left my change on the counter and attempted to report her to the store manager, which quite frankly went into one ear and out of the other. I feel a bit awkward coming to this store now knowing that she always calls someone else up to service me . Even if it’s a line she rings the bell and makes other customers wait . I come to this location because it’s convenient for myself. I shouldn’t have to feel embarrassed or anything when spending my money in the family dollar location. She’s an employee not the owner. I’ve asked for corporates number many times and they refused.

   I love shopping at family dollar but the location I went to today always has the worst customer service ever the employees are always on their personal phones talking about their personal situations no one is ever working doing whatever they want. I went in and had some coupons which the worker said he applied to my purchases when I loaded up my car and looked at the receipt I noticed he did not so I went back in to talk to the guy and he had no clue what I was talking about there was another employee who was super nice trying to explain to him on how to do everything and he paid no mind and d

   idn’t care and told the manager to come take a look the manager did not care he was standing to the side on his cell phone talking about personal business and just told the guy I had to go get everything from my car and return it because they couldn’t give me the discount from the coupons and walked away continuing his conversation on the phone I told them to return my items and I was no longer interested in giving them my business or money anymore. I work in retail as well and know we have to do anything it takes to resolve a issue and not be on personal calls during working hours especially as a manager. This is the worst experience I’ve had anywhere

   Although some of the managers and workers are “not the best”; assuming everyone is a thief while the real thieves are the workers, I like the store. I came in one day, of the thousands of days I use to go to the location, and asked for change of a hundred dollar bill. The young cashier said after thinking awhile, “ok but you have to buy some thing” so I said ok I put something small on the counter and the SECURITY GUARD pulls him to the side and whispers in his ear and then he then says “that’s too small” “you have to spend more”.    en at the security guard and called for the manager who looked at me like I was a criminal for asking for change and said they didn’t have any change if the cashier said they didn’t. Now I know and you know they had change but how why was the security guard commenting???? So I refused to go back to the store location and didn’t for awhile until one of my sons told me they didn’t see the same people working there anymore. But come to find out they were just absent for awhile. On a visit to the store one of the police officers who is a friend and that was a mentor to my younger son (who is also a police officer) was talking with the manager and the same cashier as I walked in. It was a Blessing because the officer greeted me as I walked in and both the manager and the cashier look shocked. The security officer was no longer there. Now the manager greets me and the cashier is friendly.... The store attitudes are tolerated because the items are essential to the neighborhood and the locations are the best. We also appreciate the constant discounts through the app. It’s a shame that the stores can’t keep enough good people to keep the shelves adequately stocked. When you ask if there is more of an item in the back, the answer is always “No,but come back”. When you come back, there it is or at the very least tens of boxes that lead you to believe that your items is somewhere there.

   I absolutely love this app. And I love family dollar. I have a big family so I save money on a lot of different things from baby items, to household cleaning supplies to even cute little gifts... The little spin slot machine thing is pretty cool and a nice touch. The scanner is a nice touch. Now... the only thing I don’t like is the search bar. Can you guys please make it more user friendly? Like, if I want deodorant or toilet paper... why can’t I just type “toilet paper” or “deodorant” and all the relevant coupons pop up. I don’t like that you have to type in the BRAND NAME. I’m a m

   om on a budget, a lot of times I don’t focus on brand names, I just want the deal! I feel like sometimes I miss out of a lot of good coupons because I can’t search the app for the actual product name instead of brand name. Plus who has time to search through all of your great coupons anyway. I feel like with that change, I’d be able to shop more efficiently. Until then, I’ll keep using the scanner feature.

   The Family dollar in Adairsville Ga. is amazing! Those ladies are wonderful, they are always willing to go out of their way to help you find things and they ALWAYS have a kind word to say!!! That is why I will drive 35-40 min out of my way and drive past the family dollar in my own town to go there. However, the family dollar in Cartersville has the rudest staff of people I have ever encountered. And the worst one is the person you hired to represent your company.    try to return items that did not belong to your store, when in fact I had proof of my purchase, but I did grab the wrong item out of my car, I just needed to switch them and she would have seen my mistake and HERS! But instead she was yelling and making a seen and told me and my 5yr old child that we”better NEVER” come back in her store and she was calling ALL the stores around the area to warn them about me. This is not the only bad incident or encounter we have had with her, I have called and emailed your corporate more than once and NEVER once did I get a response. So now if there is anything I really want or need from your store I will drive to the Adairsville store.

   I have been shopping this store 2-3 times a week for several years. I had quit shopping here for a while because a new manager came in and on my first encounter with her, she accused me of stealing. I carry a messenger bag with me all the time. She told me I would have to take it back to my car or leave it with her. I told her the reason I don’t leave it in the car is the same reason she was so aggressive with her accusations, this is a rough neighborhood.    itton bag? This experience made me switch to another Family Dollar. I shopped that one for a few months until I walked in one day and there she was. She had transferred. I saw her and walked right back out. I can finally go back to MY store. It was a good day. Since then, everything has been perfect in my local store. I recently opened a business in the same shopping center so now we’re all neighbors. Jeffery is the greatest salesperson. He always warmly greets me and is the sole reason I have the Family Dollar app on my phone. I LOVE everyone employed at this location. Trista is fantastic. If these employees get any better, I might have to start recruiting. Of course then, that horrible woman might come back and I can’t have that. Looks like your employees are safe for now.     I have never in my life seen a manager act and do things the way this manager has at this family dollar on Vanborn Road in Dearborn Heights. She has screamed at customers she had the radio blaring so loud you couldn’t even talk to the clerk she said it was for loss prevention she screams and yells constantly, at her employees and people in front of customers. She is the rudest most unprofessional manager I have ever seen. I have been in management my whole life and if I treated my customers the way she has from day one she would’ve never made it ,if it wasn’t a convenient store for most people

    , They would most likely go to the other store on Vanborn which has always been great and because of her , they wouldn’t even go there. I have talked to several customers waiting in line or in the store regarding her actions. You really need need to do a survey on her and just see what you get you’ll be surprised. I also was having problems with my coupons being clipped because you have no Wi-Fi so do I double my work make a list and then go in there and buy what I need the last two times half of my clipped coupons did not come off my bill she said you never told me anything about it ,well when I did , while walking away from me she responds you said his nope we don’t have Wi-Fi and walked away. Sincerely A very unsatisfied customer . Believe me I spend enough money in that store to be treated better than how she treats people. I try my best not to go into that store any longer again sincerely unsatisfied very unsatisfied customer.
