★★★☆☆ Nano Mandrake · 11 Sep 2026 · v5.9Really love the concept basically since it came out, but this app is mixed. Less than half the screen is actual map, with most of the remaining space being filled by an ad banner and a verbose "please turn on location" message (why should i if I want to use it without GPS?). Seemingly every actions requires an account. Though I love being able to customize the sharing message, don't see that very often

★★☆☆☆ Neil · 9 Sep 2026 · v5.9I had What3Words on previous phone. I installed on new phone & get adds right above the search bar. I accidentally clicked on one & wouldn't stop trying to sign me up to something I had no interest in. I had to uninstall, reinstall & clear cache. I'm concerned that a useful app, often recommended by emergency services for giving your location, is putting people at risk of accidental sign up & extraction of money via a play store account, if you have stored card details. This downgrades my rating

★☆☆☆☆ Alfie Dickens · 7 Aug 2026 · v5.8.2now a horrible form of freemium. essential parts such as saving locations and converting into different formats of location data have been stripped out of the app in a a money grab. this is a huge disappointment as it was a fantastic service before. I don't know if this has been purchased by a larger company? Keep the ads that's fine but make the app work like it used to.

★☆☆☆☆ Darren Francis · 7 Aug 2026 · v5.9This app should be good but it is pointless. 25% of the screen is covered by a massive advert that is always in your face. The number one reason for using any navigation app is to search for where you want to navigate to - On this app, you have to pay to use the search function, making it completely useless.

★☆☆☆☆ Richard Faull · 7 Aug 2026 · v5.9I spoke to customer services about the change of adding of the intrusive ads, all I was told all of the main features are now behind the pro versions. After looking at other new reviews, you have ruined a great safety app, just because you needed income from this. I used this when covid was around and the country had specialist mobile covid vehicles to which I was a Marshall and to pin point to entrance of venues for public to come for your tests. Great app in past now not worth using!

★☆☆☆☆ R · 3 Aug 2026 · v5.9What a rubbish. This used to be an amazing app, but now you get a massive banner that takes up 25% of your screen and put the subscription right in front of your face, and have the courage to ask me to pay. I thought this was supposed to help people in emergency situations. There's pop ups, and hard to confusing navigation.Glad to know that if I ever need a quick location, I'll have to fiddle around to try and tap on a tile to find the words. It's a joke, it's getting uninstalled. You ruined it!

★☆☆☆☆ Margo S · 26 Jul 2026 · v5.8.2Suddenly it changed many things and I can not even save a place of interest without paying for subscription. I DO NOT BUY SUBSCRIPTIONS. Can you make a lifetime license. If not then it is the end of my interest in your app and I am going to uninstall the app. I can live without it

★★★★★ Imran Khan · 25 Jul 2026 · v5.8.2Haven't seen any other generally available method for such accurate location sharing. Also, as an amusement, I left the app running while my flight was taking off last summer. It was pretty interesting to see, but seemed to track pretty well. This app will always be on any mobile device I have from now on. Things to improve? I'd like to have an easier time tagging w3w location data to pictures I take. Unnecessarily difficult. 3,023 people found this helpful

★☆☆☆☆ Robert Johnson · 12 Jul 2026 · v5.8.2The concerns that people had about relying on a closed commercial grid have come true, and then some. This company is clearly not doing well to have taken the dire step of creating a subscription for its free features and even safety features like lat/long and national grid display. Even saved locations are frozen and can be extracted for leaving the app only if you buy a subscription.

★☆☆☆☆ Oliver Morris · 1 Jul 2026 · v5.8.2they've changed it so you can only save maximum 10 locations on the free version - I'm not paying £4 a month to save more than 10 locations, that's nonsense. I thought the ethos of this app was to help people, so this is incredibly disappointing. it's almost unusable with so few saved locations.
