Caynax HIIT is an interval timer for HIIT, Tabata, circuit training, running intervals and any timed workout. Set warm-up, work, rest, rounds and cool-down once, and the app counts every interval for you with a voice or beeps, shows big color-coded stages and saves each session to your workout history. Connect a Bluetooth heart rate strap to see your heart rate zones while you train.
HIIT timer and Tabata timer for your own workouts
- Build unlimited workouts with warm-up, work, rest, rounds, a break after each round, repeats and cool-down
- Create, edit, duplicate and delete workouts; see the total time and a chart of every interval
- Dynamic workouts give each round its own work and rest time and name, for pyramid or ladder intervals
- 12 ready workouts: Tabata 20/10, HICT 30/10, Saltin and Pyramid Fartlek, Norwegian 4x4, Japanese interval walking, EMOM 10, AMRAP 20, circuit training 40/20 and more
- Free: work up to 3 min, rest up to 5 min, up to 20 rounds and 5 repeats. Pro: longer intervals, up to 60 rounds and 10 repeats
Timer with voice countdown and beeps
- A spoken countdown with your phone's text-to-speech (TTS) voice: it announces the warm-up, each round, the last round, breaks and the end of the workout
- Count every second, or only the first and final seconds of each interval
- Beep timer mode with 10 built-in beeps and sounds, including a referee whistle
- Pro: count down the remaining seconds (5, 4, 3...), count every N-th second, edit all 15 spoken texts, pick your own sound for every stage and choose which volume the cues use
A big, readable timer
- Full-screen color-coded stages for warm-up, work, rest, break and cool-down, with a big countdown, the round number and the total time
- Previous and next buttons skip a stage
- A notification with pause and stop keeps the workout running in the background; the screen stays on and the workout can pause during a phone call
Bluetooth heart rate monitor and zones
Pair a Bluetooth LE heart rate monitor, such as a chest strap or armband with the standard heart rate service. During the workout you see current, min, average and max BPM on a live graph. Five heart rate zones come from your age or your own max heart rate, so you can follow heart rate zone training in your intervals. Each session keeps its heart rate chart over warm-up, work, rest and cool-down, with time-in-zone stats. Pairing and zone settings are free; live heart rate during a workout is free for 7 days, then Pro. The app reads your sensor and does not measure heart rate with the phone.
Workout history and progress tracking
- Every session is saved: date, time, rounds, heart rate and calories (an estimate from your body weight)
- Add notes and RPE to each session
- Free for 7 days, then Pro: calendar, history of each workout, a weekly goal, streaks, personal records and weekly trends
- Workout reminders on the days and at the time you choose, and backup of your workouts to a file
What is HIIT?
High-intensity interval training alternates short, hard efforts with recovery. A common work-to-rest ratio is 2:1, for example 30 seconds of sprinting and 15 seconds of jogging; a Tabata round is 20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest, 8 times. Many people use HIIT for cardio, stamina and fat burning workouts when they are short on time. HIIT is very intense: ask a doctor before you start if you have a health condition.
Use it as a workout timer, interval training timer, gym timer or round timer for Tabata, HIIT, cardio, circuit training, CrossFit-style WODs, EMOM, AMRAP, Fartlek, running intervals, run walk intervals, boxing rounds, jump rope, kettlebell, bodyweight training, calisthenics, plank, stretching and yoga.
Free and Pro
The interval timer is free with ads. Pro is a one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription: it unlocks the options marked Pro and removes ads. A separate one-time purchase removes ads only. The 7-day free trial covers live heart rate, the calendar and progress stats.
