the best offline map forever. easy to use and perfect.
    Developer reply · 6 Oct 2026
That means a lot, thank you! Offline maps are the very reason we build MAPS.ME, and it's great to hear they feel simple to use too. Tip: update your maps before each trip to have the freshest data. Safe travels!

Used it for many years as I looked for an open alternative to Google Maps that I could keep locally (maps and bookmarks). Now it comes out as a paid service. My zone is divided in so many small parts the 10 free ones barely me get around in my zone. It doesn't look that fair to ask for money for maps made by community (OSM). I don't think I feel like putting up with its abysmal search function anymore.
    Developer reply · 6 Oct 2026
Thank you for the honest review and for the years you've spent with us. We understand the changes to the free version are disappointing. Pro helps us keep developing the app and updating maps regularly. Your points about map regions and search are valuable, and we've passed them on to the team.

  8. ★☆☆☆☆ Colin Leeds · 30 Sep 2026 · vv17.12.72038-googleRelease
Thought I would give it a go. First the road I live on is a straight road. According to this it has more bends than Doctor Bendie from Bendie University. Next where I work. Most of the address are marked and a Building, no address. These are pre WW2 buildings 🙄 in a major city. Hopeless.
    Developer reply · 6 Oct 2026
Our maps are built on OpenStreetMap, so accuracy depends on local data, and yours clearly needs work. You can correct a road or add a missing address right in the app, and the fix will appear in a future map update. We've also passed your note to the team.

I have been using this app extensively since 2019 and, up until today, I have had only the best experience. Unfortunately, due to the app misbehaving, today I decided to uninstall and reinstall it after clearing the cache. It turns out that your claim that bookmarks had a ‘backup to cloud’ was a BLATANT LIE, and there is NO CLOUD and NO BACKUP. When I logged into my account, I found that there was NO WAY TO RESTORE years and years of bookmarks... Thanks for nothing, I guess.
    Developer reply · 6 Oct 2026
We're truly sorry. Bookmarks collected since 2019 are precious, and losing them like this should never happen. Please email us at feedback@maps.me with the account you sign in with, your phone model and the date you reinstalled. We'll check what is stored on our side and do everything we can to bring them back.
