Music Timer: Sleep Timer

You put music on to fall asleep, and then you do fall asleep — and the music
plays until morning, draining the battery and keeping your sleep shallow. Music
Timer does exactly one thing about that: you pick a time, and when it arrives
your music fades down and stops.

It works with almost any player on your phone — Spotify, YouTube Music,
SoundCloud, podcasts, radio — because it never asks for control over a specific app. It stops playback the same way your headphones or a Bluetooth speaker do.

SHAKE TO EXTEND — FREE
Still awake in the last minute? Give the phone a few shakes to add 10 minutes;
a short buzz tells you it worked. No unlocking, no opening your eyes, nothing to
pay. (Android 14 and later.)

SET IT HOWEVER YOU LIKE
• Tap one of four presets: 15 / 30 / 45 / 60 minutes — hold one to change what that button means, anywhere from 1 to 720 minutes
• Or pick the stop time on the clock, and nudge it five minutes at a time
• A countdown ring shows what is left without you having to read a number

MUSIC ENDS GENTLY, NOT ABRUPTLY
• The volume fades before the music stops — choose instant, or a fade over 5, 15, or 30 seconds
• One minute before the end, a notification says so — if you are still awake, there is time to extend
• A "+10 min" button sits right on that notification, no need to open the app
• When it is over, your volume goes back exactly where it was

START IT WITHOUT OPENING THE APP
• Home screen widgets: a compact bar or a square countdown ring, one tap to start or cancel
• A Quick Settings tile, next to Wi-Fi and the flashlight
• Long-press the app icon to start a timer straight from the launcher
• Ask your assistant: "set a timer for 30 minutes"
• Nightly schedule: set it once and the timer starts itself every evening
