★☆☆☆☆ John S · 6 Aug 2026 · v6.1.5.1This was a free app for years. Suddenly out of the blue I get full-screen, max-volume video ads when the app is opened. And now a paywall after 14 days. So now it's just another app hijacked with adware. Would give it zero stars if I could. Uninstalling on all my devices. There are better gallery apps out there that don't play full-screen ads at max volume. I would certainly never trust this app again with my photos. it's adware and probably malware.Developer reply · 6 Aug 2026Hi! Sorry to hear that the ads caused inconveniences. Premium has no ads and opens up more features. You may also wish to choose the free version with fewer features available. Please, rest assured that there is absolutely no adware or malware involved. Thank you!

★★★★☆ games master · 11 Jul 2025 · v6.1.3.1It's good - looking, pretty user - friendly, and not too hard to understand - but Simple Gallery CAN'T or WON'T do one of the things that I'm currently looking for in an app: unhindered, customizable, movable photo ordering. Even when I make a new folder or album, either the "sort by" or "group by" settings (if not BOTH of them) force my pictures to be in a set order based on SOMETHING (name, date, file size, file type, etc.). I can't even move the pictures I DID upload to be how I want either.Developer reply · 12 Jul 2025Hello! Thank you for your review and for the suggestion. We appreciate your suggestion very much and have shared it with our Developers so that they can have a look and proceed accordingly. Keep an eye on the updates! We appreciate your feedback and hope you keep enjoying the App for your purposes!

★★☆☆☆ Justin Andrews · 4 Sep 2024Downloaded to try it out before committing to paid version, after seeing the name repeatedly recommended. I have never seen so many ads in an app. Literally launch it, touch the screen, full-screen ad AND launches the play store when you try to close out. Sat through it the second time, got less than one minute before another ad. Insane. So weirdly offended by the over-the-top aggressiveness of the ads in the free version, going back to the drawing board to find a different option to buy.Developer reply · 4 Sep 2024Hello! Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that the ads caused inconveniences. Ads are usually part of the free trial period. The Premium version has no ads. If you are a Premium User and still see ads on your App, please, reach out to our Support Team for further assistance support.simplegallery@simplemobiletools.com Thank you!

★☆☆☆☆ fred muggs · 20 Jun 2023 · v5.1.4Was a longtime user, was free and you had an option of free version... the feee version had ads that were tolerable and understandable, now 14 day trial and a paywall. No options just pay or else. Like everyone else uninstalled!! UPDATE!! can't say as I saw anything different between free and paid pro version other than the ads and nag screens but ymmvDeveloper reply · 20 Jun 2023Hey, there are many improvements in the Pro app version, it is definitely worth upgrading :) If you uninstall the paid app within 2 hours, you are automatically refunded. If you want a refund anytime later just contact us.

★☆☆☆☆ Lala Mew · 9 May 2023 · v5.3.10If I could give 0 stars I would. This was a great app since my phone didn't have it's own gallery with folders. This app could also edit photos too which I loved. I used it for years with no problem. But then, out of no where I'm being forced to pay for the app in order to continue. The app was free! Why did you have to ruin it by forcing a paywall?! Worst thing an app could do. Good luck loosing all your followers and being a 1 star app that no one touches.Developer reply · 9 May 2023Hey, not sure what you mean. You have some issues? Thanks

★☆☆☆☆ Snoozepilled · 29 Apr 2023 · v5.5.6Not so simple anymore. Used this for years across several devices, only to have the developer arbitrarily decide with no communication that it is now a paid app. And before the developer says "it's just a tiny payment," that doesn't change anything. I can afford $1.50 easily. I'd rather spend that on something that asked me for it rather than forced me.

★☆☆☆☆ Celeste Ross · 11 Apr 2023 · v5.5.4this app was great but WHY can i no longer access it without buying the paid version. EDIT in response to dev response: i know it's just 1 payment but the thing is . i don't want to pay 1 payment. i thought that the free version was perfectly fine, and I don't particularly want any fancy capabilities that come with the paid version. i'd just like the option to continue usng it for free without having to find a new gallery app, because this is easily the best oneDeveloper reply · 10 Apr 2023Hey, it is just a tiny one time payment, you will never have to pay again :) If you uninstall the paid app within 2 hours, you are automatically refunded. ★☆☆☆☆ Marshall McAdams · 10 Apr 2023 · v5.3.10Used it for years, suddenly can't open it without paying for it. Sorry, there are too many free apps to view photos to pay for this. Seriously, find a different app. Response to developer: I didn't download this as a trial for a paid app. I used it for years and you shut it down demanding payment as the only way forward. You screwed this up, I hope you learn from this disastrous move.Developer reply · 10 Apr 2023Hey, it is just a tiny one time payment, you will never have to pay again :) If you uninstall the paid app within 2 hours, you are automatically refunded. If you want a refund anytime later just contact us.

★☆☆☆☆ Day Jackson (Spice) · 7 Apr 2023Recently switched up from free to a paid "pro" version that you cannot opt out of, no free version available. However it is a "small one time payment", all it is is a gallery app, not worth in my opinion. Originally was a simple app and nice to look at. Had some issues with hidden files however and editing photos is very limited but fine, sad to have to uninstall.Developer reply · 7 Apr 2023Hey, it is just a tiny one time payment, you will never have to pay again :) If you uninstall the paid app within 2 hours, you are automatically refunded. ★☆☆☆☆ Bob De (Bones) · 6 Apr 2023 · v5.5.4Downloaded and had no real issues with this app. It was free, simple, similar to my previous phone's Gallery app. Now, all of a sudden, after 6 months (maybe longer) they are changing to a paid app. So if I want to maintain my folders they've got me (you, us) over a barrel. What a horrible business model - extortion!!
