Send the wrong jelly out first and the one you actually needed is suddenly walled in with nowhere to move. Jelly Jam: Block Away is a timed slide puzzle where colored doors line all four sides of the board, and each jelly slides only along the row or column it already sits on, leaving through the one door painted its own color. Clear every jelly off the grid and the stage is won, but the clock never stops, and letting it reach zero ends the run. What decides a level is the order you send jellies out, not how fast your fingers move.

Two things quietly turn a tidy board into a trap. Gates flip between open and shut every time a jelly leaves, so the lane you just opened for your next move can seal itself before you get there. Bomb blocks keep a countdown all their own, apart from the stage clock, and if that count reaches zero first the round is over no matter how much time was left. Reading which door to open next is what keeps this sliding puzzle from ever feeling automatic.

Three tools wait for the moments you are genuinely stuck rather than merely slowed down. The clock winds a little time back onto the meter, the hammer lifts one jelly you point at straight off the grid, and the magic bottle clears a whole color in a single tap. None of them are needed to finish a stage; they are there for the one bottleneck that has you cornered. The main run grows more crowded as you go, tougher boards are flagged before you step into them, and an endless mode waits past the last hand-built stage. Progress saves on its own between sessions, and the solo game runs with no connection at all.

Once the main run is far enough along, the Chef's Codex opens up. Clearing stages earns cakes that carry you up its tiers, while coins and tools arrive along two separate reward tracks, and the whole board resets on a cycle. It adds no new way to play; it simply gives the levels you are already working through one more reason to keep going a little further each day.

Cooking Duel sets you and a rival on the very same board, and whoever empties it first takes the round; leave partway through and it counts as a loss, so this mode asks to be online. In place of the solo tools you carry three of your own: a frostflake that freezes your opponent just as they line up the block that would win it, a chaos hammer that reverses their slide direction and wrecks a sequence they had timed to the move, and a purification dice that shakes a curse off you without pushing the board on your behalf. Wins and losses feed your chef rank, points arrive as you climb, and a seasonal ladder pays out by standing when each period closes. The duels lean on a connection; the solo puzzle never asks for one.
