★★★☆☆ Tomasz Kulka · 17 Sep 2026 · v412.0.0.180976old interface worked better. they "refreshed" the look and it just stopped being simple. it used to say when I can use same ticket, if it was off-peak or so, its not so clear anymore. to see my progress on the way of my train I can only check it by pop up notification in -my ticket- section but it doesn't always pop up and then it doesnt work correctly. Doesn't show the best route usually. it helps me in travel but ngl i gotta bend over backwards sometimes to get what I need from this appDeveloper reply · 21 Sep 2026Hi Tomasz, Thanks for providing your feedback regarding your app experience. I'll ensure that this is relayed to the relevant team to help with future updates and improvements. We'd also recommend to delete the Trainline app, restart your device, and reinstall it to ensure you have the latest version. Thanks - Gareth

★☆☆☆☆ Pete Hotchkiss · 15 Sep 2026 · v412.0.0.180976Slow to load purchased tickets. The app Devs need to learn what the word cache means. Tracking is faked, and shows trains having passed through stations they haven't. Forces advertising overlays into key stages of the purchasing process. Naga you to add "insurance" to your purchases. All signs of a ticketing platform that has long since lost its wayDeveloper reply · 16 Sep 2026Hi Pete, Thanks for providing your feedback about your app experience. I'll ensure that this is shared with the relevant team to help with future updates. Thanks - Gareth

★☆☆☆☆ Suraj S · 14 Sep 2026 · v412.0.0.180976Dynamic pricing has ruined this experience. Now the app keeps saying limited tickets left, forcing you to search again, and increasing the price quoted after you go to the final screen. Pretty sure this is illegal, and can be reported to the CMA. In response to the comment below: every train for the entire day showed "limited availability", so I couldn't purchase a single ticket without being kicked back to the earlier screen and the prices going upDeveloper reply · 14 Sep 2026Hi there, All ticket prices are set by the train operator themselves, and the booking system is based upon live availability. When booking, it is possible that someone else has purchased the same fare during the payment process, and will require the search to be restarted. Thanks - Gareth

★☆☆☆☆ Jay Edwards · 11 Sep 2026 · v412.0.0.180976Drip fed pricing - not transparent pricing. Trainline go against the latest CMA rules against drip pricing. When you select a journey that's advertised as £42, you would expect to pay £42, however Trainline add an additional booking fee at the cart review, so you're paying more than they originally advertise when selecting your journey. I'd recommend booking via National Rail to avoid hidden fees.Developer reply · 14 Sep 2026Hi Jay, We are proud to help millions of travellers choose rail travel and are committed to delivering genuine value to those customers who rely on us every day. We're aware of the CMA’s questions and are working with them. If you have any questions about your tickets, we're happy to help > tinyurl.com/5dyjtxzm Thanks - Gareth

★★☆☆☆ Keith Mellnick · 10 Sep 2026 · v412.0.0.180976It's a user friendly app but everyone working at train stations told me repeatedly that their conditions are unnecessarily strict compared to buying directly. And my ticket disappeared from the app while I was changing trains. Luckily I had a copy in my email. For Italy, use the trenitalia app. It's just as user friendly and allows much more flexibility. Classic third-party problems, at least in my experience.Developer reply · 10 Sep 2026Hi Keith, All tickets purchased through us are set against the same terms and conditions that the train operators use on the railway. If you require any further assistance, please feel free to reach out to our Customer Service team using the following link > tinyurl.com/5dyjtxzm Thanks - Gareth

★☆☆☆☆ Rusty Spoons · 28 Aug 2026 · v410.0.0.180178Really buggy and clunky. Not a good UX. Tickets are a pain to book. Railcard is a scam. Took me 45 mins to buy a railcard and since buying it there is no opportunity to use it. There is no way to apply it to purchases. The app just suggest I buy a railcard despite already having one. So I spent 35 quid just to pay full price for tickets anyway. Cache and data all cleared. It's simply a bug.Developer reply · 28 Aug 2026Hi there, I'd recommend clearing your apps cache, uninstalling the app, restarting your device and reinstalling the app. Please be advised that you'll need to apply the named railcard every time you book a new journey as certain customers buy tickets for other travellers who won't have a railcard. Thanks. Lorcan

★☆☆☆☆ Liam Williams · 11 Aug 2026 · v407.0.0.178994Stuck on "Loading your bookings" for around 30 minutes despite having no signal issues. So then deleted the cache, reinstalled Trainline, and eventually decided to download train operator apps that would let me to actually view my tickets — yet somehow the bookings screen still hasn't loaded. Of course, purchasing the ticket worked perfectly without any issues. If you enjoy buying tickets and having the PDF sent to your email as your only reliable way to access them, this is the app for you.Developer reply · 12 Aug 2026Hi Liam, Sorry to hear you've had a few issues when using our app. Please delete the Trainline app, restart your device, and reinstall it to ensure you have the latest version. Also, clear the cache and cookies. If the issue persists, please contact our Customer Service team via the following link > tinyurl.com/5dyjtxzm Thanks - Gareth

★★☆☆☆ Liam Mac Gabhann · 3 Aug 2026 · v406.1.0.178765This app is good for finding times and planning journeys, however, when you buy a ticket finding the actual ticket with the QR is an endless frustration. Surely the most obvious thing a customer wants after they have bought a ticket is to have it available right away. Instead, you spend up to 15mins messing on the phone looking for your ticket, hit and miss until somehow it appears, there's no clear path. They send you an email with a receipt but no ticket. Not userfriendly at allDeveloper reply · 4 Aug 2026Hi Liam, Thanks for your feedback regarding your app experience. I'll ensure that this is fed back to the relevant team. Thanks - Gareth

★★☆☆☆ broomee c · 30 Jul 2026 · v406.0.0.178235fairly easy to use but takes a fee. Also it gives you advance single option a gew mins before train leaves but then doesnt allow you to book that option saying "somethimg off track" with a "sold out" message. it shouldn't give you that option of it doesn't let you purchase. if its an hour before the train departure or 3 minutes it is still before the departure. Very poor serviceDeveloper reply · 3 Aug 2026Hi, Some of your purchases may include a small booking fee. This is to help improve our products and services. More details on this can be found here > tinyurl.com/yc2e4maz If you're having an issue completing your purchase, please contact our Customer Service who can assist. Their details are link here > tinyurl.com/5dyjtxzm Thanks - Gareth

★★★☆☆ Mick Freed (Mick the Knife) · 22 Jul 2026 · v405.0.0.177755You have to remember to add the Railcard, that it already knows about, right at the start of any booking. You can't add it at Checkout time. Not very user friendly... [edit] thanks for the response Gareth, I understand what you're saying, but in that case, please amend the search so that it asks for any Travelcard as well as route, date, time...Developer reply · 22 Jul 2026Hi Mick, Our search results will automatically default back to normal once a purchase is completed, this is help prevent any error bookings. You'll need to ensure that the Railcard is applied before you complete the search, so that the correct pricing is displayed. Thanks - Gareth
