Save Status: Video Downloader

A status lasts 24 hours. The ones worth keeping should last longer than that.

Open a photo, video or GIF that a contact has posted, tap once, and the file is stored in your phone's gallery at full quality — no screen recording, no screenshot, and no asking anyone to send it across again.

HOW IT WORKS
1. View a contact's update the way you normally would.
2. Open this app — the same post is already sitting there in the list.
3. Tap save. It goes straight to your gallery and is still there long after the original has expired.

WHAT YOU GET
• One-tap status download for videos, photos and animated GIFs
• New posts picked up automatically in the background, so the list is ready when you open the app
• A built-in viewer: swipe through pictures, play videos with sound, decide before you keep anything
• Your own gallery of saved media, all of it in one place
• Watch a saved video again inside the app, with or without a connection
• Send anything you have kept onward to a chat, to Instagram, Telegram or email
• Just as useful as a story saver, for the updates friends post and then let disappear

WHY PEOPLE KEEP IT ON THEIR PHONE
Somebody shares a recipe, a festival greeting, a cricket highlight, a song, a line that lands at exactly the right moment — and by tomorrow it has gone. Saving status the moment you see it means the small things stay with you instead of vanishing overnight. Some people call an app like this a wa saver; the job it actually does is stop you losing posts that mattered.

BUILT TO BE SIMPLE
The app opens straight onto the newest updates. There is no account to create, no sign-in, nothing to set up first. Files are written into ordinary folders on your device, so any gallery or file manager can read them, and everything you keep stays on the phone rather than going to a server.

GOOD TO KNOW
• The app works alongside WhatsApp on the same phone, reading the status folder that the messenger itself creates when you view an update.
• Recent Android versions ask once for folder access. Granting it is what lets the app see those files and copy them for you.
• Whatever you download still belongs to the person who posted it, so please ask them before you pass it on.
