Works properly on Firefox/153.0, although no throbber appears when buffering after seek, which would be nice to have.

I could try adding a throbber setting, Instagram doesn't have throbbers by default which is why they don't show up while loading (if a video freezes during playback it also has no way to indicate that to you), although I'll have to think about how I could theme it to make it fit the aesthetic.

Perfect! Just what I wanted, no more, no less. Elegant! TY!

Was good for a few months but now (as of 1-2 months ago) very frequently maxes out the audio of reels as I scroll. I change it back to the ~10% I usually have it at and 1-2 reels later I get blasted by 100% volume, often when scrolling up mid reel when I scrolled past it slightly. The volume slider does not show that the volume is at 100%. Changing extension settings does not fix the issue. Issue goes away when I disable the extension. Edit 1: Native volume bars. The issue was present prior to 1.2.8 and it persists. Edit 2: Disabled all other extensions, issue still present. Who knows; 5 star

   s for trying.

I apologise for the bugs, does this happen with the native volume bars? The disable volume bars setting should entirely disable the logic for the built in one so that is very weird, I can try looking over it in a few days time in case I have missed anything (Edit) Unfortunately I can't replicate the issue, which means Instagram on your end is doing something differently or maybe another extension is somehow conflicting?

Doesn't work. I installed it, reloaded Instagram, pulled up a Reel from my messages, did not see any difference in the video player. (No ability to scrub/move, no indication of how long the video was, etc.)

That's unfortunate, you must have a revision of the UI that I do not have access to as it still works completely for me. If I ever receive this I will be able to fix it

What a breath of fresh air! This extension works great, is very useful, and only requires access to the site it works with. Thank you for this great tool!

Created a firefox account just to leave a review. It deserves more. The most modern and functional seekbar for reels out there. I tried many but stuck with this one. Thanks to the dev.

Thanks dev for adding volume control to Stories so quickly (<1h) after my original review. IMO this is the best extension (out of the 3 I've tried) for seek and volume control on Instagram. The "Better Videos" extension changes Stories UI too much. The oldest extension with the most users by far doesn't work well at keeping the volume down consistently and also alters Reel & Story looping behavior.

Hi! I have just added this feature in version 1.2.1 which should be available to update to now! I apologise that I had missed it previously. (Edit) Thanks for the words! I'm glad my extension is of use :)

nice bro but pls can u add a botton of wich u can get a bigger video u know that right ?
    Developer reply · 25 Sep 2025

Do you mean a way to make videos take up more space on the screen? such as for square videos? I'm not sure if I can, it depends how Instagram works, but I can try looking into it, can't guarantee anything though. Or do you mean a fullscreen button?
