UPDATE: i tried using it again after more than a month, but its becoming worst. 1 star for fail voice recognition The voice recognition is very frustrating. You need to keep on repeating the words even though they are already pronounced well like coche, gasolina. But still it wouldnt register what i just said.

Written lessons are alright. The chatbot and the spoken lessons are broken beyond measure, namely as you'll speak eidetically to the prompt and it will take some random phrase (that sounds exactly opposite to what you said) and input it instead. All-in-all it's not the worst experience (that's would be learning English from a rural US resident), but it's damn near it.....

Been doing over a hour a day of French on this and find that it is good for introducing words, but not particularly good at teaching realistic grammatically correct usage. The speaking tool is pretty terrible, which is my main issue with it, it doesn't pick up on clearly spoken words, and is very hit and miss. Additionally, you get marked down for spelling, which should be optional especially if you are not bothered about reading and writing another language and just want to learn speaking.

For now I'm using only the free lessons to supplement my learning while focusing on apps with Mexican Spanish options. For me, the different verb tenses and pronunciations are confusing. But Mondly has such an engaging, visual design and learning structure that I love! I will buy a lifelong membership if they create a Mexican Spanish option. Or maybe after I build confidence in recognizing the basic differences between the dialects.

Technical difficulties with app lessons failing to load, poor voice recognition of words spoken with ridiculous translations, and also when you are given a choice of answers the correct one is always the top one, it never changes so it isn't a challenge

Mondly is probably the first language learning app and still the best app for this category and at least they have a lot of distinct features from the other apps their only problem is maybe bad marketing and don't adding a little gamification. Mondly is one level above Busuu, Cake, and Duolingo. They should try to change design and replacement in the app
