Description

This is a therapy app for patients with Hemianopic Alexia. Hemianopia is compromised vision in one half of the visual field, in either one or both eyes. Hemianopic Alexia (HA) is a reading disorder usually caused by stroke or head injury. In order to read, you have to move your eyes along a line of text in the direction of the written language. For Arabic written text, you move your eyes to the left along the line. HA patients are deprived of much of this information. This slows their reading significantly and often prevents them from reading efficiently for work or pleasure. This APP will assess and rehabilitate Arabic reading patients with brain injuries. The therapy part is the animated text (laterally scrolling) using Arabic text/script from different resources. We hope that this APP is an effective, novel, and empirically supported reading treatment package for Arabic readers with HA.

هذا التطبيق هو تطبيق علاجي مخصص لمرضى العمى الشقي الكسيا. العمى الشقي هي ضرر يصيب نصف مجال الابصار في احد او كلتا العينين. العمى الشقي الكسيا هو حالة اضطراب في القراء بسبب سكتة دماغية أو اصابة في الرأس. من أجل القراءة، يجب أن تقوم بتحريك عينيك على طول سطر من الكلمات في اتجاه اللغة التي تقرأها. بالنسبة لقارئي اللغة العربية تقوم بتحريك عينيك في اتجاه اليسار مع السطر. ويتم حرمان مرضى العمى الشقي الكسيا من الكثير من هذه المعلومات. مما يؤثر على سرعة القراءة ويمنعهم من القراءة بكفائة بهدف العمل او الاستمتاع. سوف يقوم هذا التطبيق بتقييم واعادة تأهيل المرضى القارئين باللغة العربية الذين يعانون من اصابة بالرأس. الجزء المخصص للعلاج هو النصوص المتحركة (حركة افقية) بإستخدام نصوص عربية من مصادر مختلفة. نتمنى ان يكون هذا التطبيق علاجاً فعالاً للقراءة للقارئين باللغة العربية اللذين يعانون من العمى الشقي الكسيا.
