Description
A pocket toolbox for ophthalmology. Twelve clinical tools — screening tests, calculators, cameras, and quick references — in one native iOS app. Built for ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians, orthoptists, residents, and medical students.
Designed for the bedside, the clinic, and the corridor. Every tool is one tap away from the Home Screen.
WHAT'S INSIDE
• Eye Drops Guide - a mini-handbook
A searchable medication reference covering drug names, classes, forms, concentrations, doses, safety profiles, drug interactions, and more.
• VA Conversion Table
Meter, Feet, and decimal acuities side-by-side. Convert at a glance.
• Retina Viewer
Smartphone fundus photography using a 20D lens. Live camera with smooth zoom, capture photos or video, save to Photos.
• Nine-Gaze Camera
Guide the patient through the nine cardinal gaze positions. The app auto-stitches each frame into a single 3×3 motility montage, ready to save.
• Ishihara Test
24-plate color vision screening with a built-in 1–15 scoring table and a protan/deutan classification breakdown. An evidence-appraisal section cites validation studies for digital Ishihara screening — with links to the original papers.
• IPD Measurement
Measure interpupillary distance via the TrueDepth front camera.
• Amsler Grid
On-screen central vision testing for macular monitoring.
• Cobalt Blue Screen
Blue illumination for fluorescein when a cobalt blue light source isn't available — a workaround for low-resource and emergency settings.
CLINICAL CALCULATORS
Live results as you dial in values, with the formulas and published sources behind every answer.
• Age to Bifocal Add
Set the patient's age for a tentative near add at 40 cm, with the full age-band table alongside.
• Rx Toolkit
Transpose between plus and minus cylinder, find the spherical equivalent, and vertex-compensate between spectacle and contact lens powers, rounded to steps you can order.
• Prism Toolkit
Prentice's rule for both lenses at once: vertical imbalance at the reading level, PD-error prism graded against ANSI Z80.1, and whether decentration can supply a prism or it must be ground in.
• AC/A Ratio
Calculated and gradient methods side by side, with the working shown. See which binocular vision pattern the findings fit, and predict how a near add will shift the near phoria.
DESIGNED FOR CLINICIANS
Each tool is built around the way clinicians actually work: short workflows, contextual help sheets with the technique and limitations spelled out, and no marketing fluff. Home Screen quick actions surface the most-used tools — VA Conversion, Search Medications, Cobalt Blue Screen — in one long-press.
A NOTE ON SCOPE
Ophthalmology Toolbox is a clinical reference and screening companion. It is not a substitute for slit-lamp examination, formal perimetry, or standard ophthalmic equipment when those are available. The Cobalt Blue Screen and digital Ishihara test are best treated as bedside workarounds, with printed plates or proper equipment used to confirm significant findings. The calculators support clinical judgment rather than replace it: an AC/A pattern is a prompt for corroborating findings, not a diagnosis.
JUST THE BEGINNING
The toolbox is still growing. More clinical utilities and mini-handbooks for common conditions — workups, differentials, examinations — are queued for upcoming releases. If something's missing from your workflow, send a note: the next update might add it.
