WHY I BUILT MYTEAPAL:

Tea has been part of my life for over ten years. In 2016, I started studying Chinese tea to reconnect with my roots, and in 2017 I founded CommuniTEA, Duke University's tea club — built on a simple idea: tea brings people together.

I always wished there were a way to record my tea journey: every tea I tasted, teaware I collected, brewing method I used, and feeling I sensed. I tried paperback journals and other tea apps, but none of them felt right, so in 2020 I built my own: MyTeaPal.

After returning to China in 2021, I launched the MyTeaPal Club and began sourcing tea directly from producers across the country. Today, MyTeaPal helps thousands of tea drinkers around the world learn, explore, and connect through tea.
