The Dnyaneshwari (ज्ञानेश्वरी) (also referred to as Jnanesvari, Jnaneshwari or Bhavartha Deepika) is a commentary on the Bhagavad Gita written by the Marathi saint and poet Dnyaneshwar in 1290 CE.The Dnyaneshwari (ज्ञानेश्वरी) is a commentary on the Bhagavad Gita written by the Marathi saint and poet Dnyaneshwar. His legacy inspired saint-poets such as Eknathand Tukaram, and he has been one of the foundations of the Varkari (Vithoba-Krishna) Bhakti movement tradition of Hinduism in Maharashtra. Sant Dnyaneshvar wrote Dnyaneshwari to enlighten the ordinary people about the secret of Bhagvad Gita through and language they would understand.
