Windscribe VPN is a privacy-focused VPN app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV, built by Windscribe Limited, an independently owned company founded in 2016 and based in Toronto, Canada. Windscribe encrypts your traffic, replaces your IP address with one from 69+ countries, and unblocks sites and streaming libraries restricted in your region.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
• Protocols: WireGuard, OpenVPN UDP, OpenVPN TCP, IKEv2, Stealth, Wstunnel.
• Encryption: AES-256 with Perfect Forward Secrecy. Post-quantum encryption on WireGuard protects today's traffic from future decryption.
• 10 Gbps server ports for 4K streaming, large downloads and low-latency gaming.
• DNS leak protection and an always-on kill switch that cuts all traffic if the tunnel drops.

WHAT WINDSCRIBE STORES
Windscribe does not log your IP address, browsing history, DNS queries, connection timestamps or traffic. It stores three non-identifying data points: date last used, bandwidth used in the last 30 days, and activated app versions.

INDEPENDENT VERIFICATION
• Court-tested: on 11 April 2025 a court in Athens, Greece dismissed criminal charges against Windscribe co-founder Yegor Sak. Windscribe had no user data to hand over; the no-logs policy held as a legal defence.
• Infrastructure audit: PacketLabs audited the server stack in June 2024, covering 20 repositories and roughly 80,000 lines of code, plus pen testing.
