Travel a lot and wonder which Metro-North Railroad ticket to buy? Want to see how much you can save by purchasing the most optimal ticket combination for a given month or week? The MNR Railroad Train Ticket Wizard helps you choose the best ticket between any station and Grand Central Terminal, based on when you are traveling.
It's pretty simple: choose your station, pick the dates you plan to travel by clicking on the calendar (you can even choose whether you're traveling peak or off-peak or one way or roundtrip), and Train Ticket Wizard tells you which ticket to buy - all in real time. The Wizard figures out the best ticket to buy as you select dates. You also now see how much the best ticket option will cost (thanks for the user feedback!)
Need a train fare in a hurry? Three screen taps get you there. Even if you're wondering whether it's a peak or off peak trip, the app shows you the current period and gives you the appropriate fare when you walk near your favorite stations.
Train Ticket Wizard can use Mail & Ride pricing for a more accurate analysis for those of you who get your monthly ticket automatically mailed to you. Just go to the settings screen and hit the switch!
There is NO other app out there that can both give you quick fares and help you pick the most cost effective train ticket for the Metro-North Railroad.
