Description

星雲大師，一九二七年生，江蘇江都人，為臨濟宗第四十八代傳人。一九四九年初來台，一九五三年任宜蘭念佛會導師，奠定弘法事業基礎。一九六七年創建佛光山，致力推廣文化、教育、慈善等事業，先後在世界各地創設二百餘所寺院道場，在海內外設立十六所佛教學院，創辦美國西來大學、南華大學、佛光大學、澳洲南天大學、菲律賓光明大學、智光中學、普門中學、均頭中小學、均一中小學，及《人間福報》、人間衛視等。一九九一年成立國際佛光會，為國際佛光會世界總會總會長、世界佛教徒友誼會榮譽會長。
大師著作等身，撰有《釋迦牟尼佛傳》、《佛教叢書》、《佛光教科書》、《往事百語》、《佛光祈願文》、《迷悟之間》、《人間萬事》、《當代人心思潮》、《人間佛教當代問題座談會》、《人間佛教系列》、《人間佛教語錄》、《人間佛教論文集》、《僧事百講》、《百年佛緣》等，總計二千餘萬言，並譯成英、德、日、韓、西、葡等二十餘種語言，流通世界各地。
為讓大師所提人間佛教，傳播流通廣泛，不但製作星雲大師專網，更透由APP將大師的著作廣為流傳，進一步達到淨化人心的作用，更讓三好運動：身做好事、口說好話、心存好心，深植人心
